കുട്ടികൾ വാശിപിടിച്ച് കരയുന്നതും പിണങ്ങി മാറിയിരിക്കുന്നതും ഒരു മോശം കാര്യമല്ല. അവ അവരുടെ വളർച്ചയുടെ ഭാഗമായി പ്രകടമാകുന്ന സ്വഭാവ സവിശേഷതകളാണ്. എന്നാൽ ഏത് കാര്യത്തിനുമെന്നപോലെ ഇത്തരം വാശികൾക്കും ഒരു അതിർവരമ്പുണ്ട്.

ഒന്നര മുതൽ രണ്ട് വയസ്സ് വരെയുള്ള പ്രായം കുട്ടികളുടെ തലച്ചോറിന്റെ വളർച്ചയിൽ വളരെ നിർണ്ണായകമാണ്.
ഈ ഘട്ടത്തിൽ ഉണ്ടാകുന്ന ദ്രുതഗതിയിലുള്ള മാറ്റങ്ങൾ കാരണം തങ്ങൾക്കുള്ള കഴിവുകൾ മുൻപുണ്ടായിരുന്നത് പോലെ ഉപയോഗിക്കാൻ അവർക്ക് ബുദ്ധിമുട്ട് അനുഭവപ്പെടാറുണ്ട്.
