The Vizhinjam International Transhipment Deepwater Multipurpose Seaport, Thruvanathapuram district, Kerala
Vs
Colachel International Seaport also known as Enayam port, is proposed and located in Colachel, Kanyakumari district, Tamil Nadu,
Our Vizhinjam Seaport has to compete with Colachel International Seaport, TN. Then only we can say Vizhinjam Seaport a successful project. Otherwise it will be liability for our state.
The Kerala government has already expressed its displeasure at the Colachel International Seaport having received the go-ahead because it is barely 36 km away from the Vizhinjam trans-shipment port, which is being built with private funds from the Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd. (APSEZ).
Shipping industry experts have been sounding notes of caution. “There are already two trans-shipment ports, Vallarpadam port in Cochin and the under-construction Vizhinjam port in Trivandrum. The proposed Enayam port is the third major trans-shipment port in the region. Having three major ports close to each other looks difficult from a sustenance point of view,” K. Ravichandran, the senior vice-president and sector head of corporate ratings at ICRA Ltd., an independent credit-rating agency, told The Wire.
Both ports claims that they are world class, future ready port is the only transshipment hub in the Indian subcontinent, closest to the international shipping routes, and is centrally located on the Indian coastline.
Vizhinjam seaport has a Natural draft of 20-24 m & minimal littoral drift. But Colachel International Seaport is only 20m.
The proposed Colachel International Seaport is less than four nautical miles away from the international shipping channel. But the Vizhinjam Port is 10 nautical miles from the busy international shipping route connecting Europe, the Persian Gulf and the Far East.
Therefore Kerala politicians, don't fight each other but fight with TN and win the race.

One of the best representation of Trinity. From Parumala Palli
Baiju K.’s _My ‘encounters’ with Spatial Planning,_ an urban planner’s account of three decades of professional work in various offices of the Kerala Town Planning Department, is a rare book. It is arguably one of its kind, with reflections on the professional work undertaken as an urban planner. I am aware of only a couple of autobiographies by ex - Chief Planners, but unlike this book, they do not dwell on the technical details of the work undertaken by them in their professional lives.
One reason for Baiju’s account to be considered important is historical. He was a key player in the planning team that was responsible for anchoring the preparation of the Integrated District Development Plan (IDDP) for Kollam. The Kollam IDDP is a very unique planning exercise in the history of urban planning in India and since no detailed account of this effort exists, this memoir has special historic value. The book gives a ring-side view of the pioneering efforts undertaken in the early 2000s by a small dedicated team under the visionary leadership of Shri Jacob Easow towards a new way of preparing spatial plans aligned with the 73rd and 74th CA Act, 1992. This book is therefore necessary reading for all planners since it offers a first-hand detailed account of the trajectory, the tools and the process of the IDDP plan, from its inception to its partial adoption in other districts and finally to its demise.
The book also records various other initiatives and innovations that the author himself has worked on (that seem to be very unique, reflecting on my knowledge of urban planning in a few other states) that strengthen the rational basis of Kerala’s urban planning practice. These include the preparation of the District Urbanisation Report (DUR), the State Urbanisation Report (SUR), and 32 Master Plans. The journey of the 'frozen' Thiruvananthapuram Master Plan is also chronicled here and the book offers a glimpse into little-known aspects of the plan preparation and later developments. Planners and students would find the book extremely useful. This book is written in an easy-to-read style, peppered with wit, though it would have benefited from better copy editing.
Baiju’s book and the work that it documents are a significant contribution to the planning profession. Clearly, there is a real need for many more such professional memoirs that would enable the building of some kind of urban planning knowledge and serve as a kind of archive of planning practice within the state.

WHY ME?
A Beautiful Message
by
The Legendary Wimbledon Player was dying of disease which he got due to Infected Blood he received during a Heart Surgery in 1983!
He received letters from his fans, one of which conveyed:
"Why did God have to select you for such a bad disease?"
To this Arthur Ashe replied:
50 Million children started playing Tennis,
5 Million learnt to play Tennis,
500 000 learnt Professional Tennis,
50 Thousand came to Circuit,
5 Thousand reached Grand Slam,
50 reached Wimbledon,
4 reached the Semifinals,
2 reached the Finals and
when I was holding the cup in my hand, I never asked God "Why Me?"
So now that I'm in pain how can I ask God "Why Me?"
Happiness keeps you Sweet!
Trials keep you Strong!
Sorrows keep you Human!
Failure keeps you Humble!
Success keeps you Glowing!
But only, Faith keeps you Going!
Sometimes you are not satisfied with your life,
while many people in this world are dreaming of living your life.
A child on a farm sees a plane fly overhead and dreams of flying.
But, the pilot on the plane sees the farmhouse & dreams of returning home.
That's life!
Enjoy yours... If wealth was the secret to happiness, then the rich would be dancing on the streets. But only the poor kids can do that.
If power ensured security, then VIPs would walk unguarded.
But those who live simply, sleep soundly.
If beauty and fame brought ideal relationships, then celebrities would have the best marriages.
Live simply. Walk humbly and love genuinely! Say to life to "Try me" ...instead of "why me"
