•Bifurcated into Dept. of Zoology and Dept. of Botany in 1967.
•Prof. Thomas was the first Head of the Department.
•Then Dr.P.V.George, Prof.P.K.Rahelamma, Prof.T.J.James, Dr.M.I.Georgekutty, Prof.Saramma George and Dr.Leenamma Joseph.
•M.Sc. Environmental Sciences was started in 2001
