Assessments are important milestones in the journey of research and continuous improvement.

On 23rd July, Rohan Kr Biswas successfully defended his 5th evaluation, while Amit Swarnakar defended his 3rd evaluation on the same day.

On 24th July, Subash Hazari successfully defended his PhD synopsis.

Celebrating 3 Years of P.E.A.R.L. 🎉

Proud to share that our P.E.A.R.L. (Phycology, Ecology And Remote sensing Lab) marks its 3rd anniversary today. Under the guidance of Dr. Avik Kumar Choudhury , the lab has grown into a dynamic research space integrating classical phycology with modern interdisciplinary approaches.

Over the past three years, our work has spanned across:
• Phytoplankton ecology and biomonitoring
• Diatom research and culture development
• Green synthesis of nanoparticles using algal systems
• Studies on green microalgae such as Chlamydomonas and Chlorella
• Applications of Remote sensing in Ecological assessment

This journey reflects not only scientific progress but also collaboration, persistence, and continuous learning. Each experiment, field study, and dataset has contributed to building a strong foundation in algal research and environmental monitoring.

Grateful to be a part of this journey as we continue exploring innovative solutions at the intersection of phycology, ecology, and technology.

Looking forward to many more years of impactful research and discoveries ahead.

We are pleased to share that Amit Swarnakar, NFSC-JRF of our laboratory, successfully presented a poster at the International Conference on Algal and Cyanobacterial Biology, organized by the Department of Botany, Banaras Hindu University (BHU).

We are pleased to share that Dr. Avik Kumar Choudhury, Lab Supervisor of PEARL, delivered an oral presentation at the International Conference on Algal and Cyanobacterial Biology, organized by the Department of Botany, Banaras Hindu University.

Dr. Choudhury, Assistant Professor in the Postgraduate Department of Botany at Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Centenary College, is a distinguished expert in phytoplankton ecology and dynamics and a Fellow of Future Earth Coasts. His presentation highlighted significant findings from his research and contributed meaningfully to the scientific deliberations at the conference. The lecture was highly appreciated and proved beneficial for the young scientists and researchers in attendance.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Choudhury on this noteworthy achievement and wish him continued success in his academic and research endeavors.
