THE JOURNEY

Often, the journey begins from sadness.
Often, what we think is the end,
becomes the beginning.
Often, it is when the world we have known collapses
that we discover a whole new dimension.

Just like Arjun in the middle of a battle
seeks help from Krishna,
who shows him He is his own higher Self.

And the battle is always within.
Outside wars can be fought by the brave
and even the timid alike
but the war within the mind and heart
is the difficult one to win.

When we are down and tired
we must take that one step again
to meet that true Self within.

About The Play::
The Play is divided into three acts. Written in 1879...published in Copenhegen,Denmark.It is said that the play is somewhere based on the events of Ibsen's own life and this play is inspired from his own personal life.

Plot Summary::
The play entirely revolves around a beautiful married woman Nora Helmer,wife of Torvald Helmer and mother of three childrens namely Ivar,Bob and Emmy.It revolves how being a faithful wife she was actually not able to win back her husband's trust and end up slamming door on her husband's face showing her own personal and independent identity.Moreover,Dr.Rank has an important part to play who tried to hide his feelings from Nora and also tried to fill the gap between his friend Nora and Torvald.The entire misunderstanding has been created by Krogstad another character who was fired from his job by Nora's Husband and now he is on the verge of taking revenge from Nora.


What Nora does ultimately? How she managed to leave his own family and step out for the sake of her own personal fame and identity which she had veiled behind her domestic chores!! Its an interesting story a must read.Henrik Ibsen has shown all versions in the plot to make the readers glued till the end.!!!

The book Adultery portrays the story of an independent woman Linda, in her 30s, who has an almost perfect life; a content and stable marriage, a caring husband, sweet little kids and a rewarding journalism career. Through the regular everyday life, she starts to question the dullness and boredom of her passing days. She tends to be dissatisfied with her life, until she meets her high-school boyfriend, Jacob, who is a successful politician now.

With him, she revives the zeal and craze that were previously missing in her life. They get involved into an affair which she knows can lead her to difficult circumstance, yet, she finds the affair to be really exciting. With this transformation, she is standing at a life-altering turn of her life.

Story line of any of the books of the writer is simple- a journey. This is a story of journey of a person who decides NOT to fake happiness and instead live life as per choice. The chosen path is full of social stigma, taboos, acceptances and rejections of choices and yes, it is considered as dangerous in conventional social norms and relationships. The novel is able to beautifully capture pleasure and pain of such path, which is more in the inner world of the person than at physical level. It is based on the background of s society and polity, which has elements of similarity with any other society and polity like fear of being caught in adulterous relationship, artificial and extremely self conscious behaviour of budding and established politicians, etc. I enjoyed this and I am sure you will also enjoy this.
