PRESISION is back again after two years of success. It's again that time of the year to celebrate Physics. Our flagship event, the Undergraduate Physics Symposium, brings forth researchers from the undergraduate community (B.Sc. and M.Sc.) to showcase their work. We also hosts a lot of fun events, like the highly popular Physics quiz session, Braintropy. The Open House session and Public Lecture surely will elevate your love for Physics. This August, Baker Lab will again be environed by the lovers of this discipline.

Presision 2018 brings to you the unique opportunity to explore the wondrous life of a student at the Presidency University Physics Department by taking you on a tour of the classrooms, laboratories and corridors where all the actions happen! Come be a part of history as you witness the cutting edge research that goes about in the department and meet and interact with the people who make it possible!

The event includes demonstration of experiments, posters, simulations and many other things which will bring you closer to Physics.

In many ways, scientific research resembles a whodunnit detective story! There's a mystery which piques the investigator's (scientist's) interest. There are circumstantial evidences hinting at an initial lead. As the investigation progresses, new clues arise, and further questions embroil the heroes in deeper mystery! Unexpected twists and turns abound at every corner until finally, enough clues accumulated over a long and arduous period compounded by the genius of the investigator leads to the truth!

We at Presidency are as much intrigued by such riveting stories as we are stimulated by the wonders of Physics! Therefore Presision 2018 brings to you the opportunity to mesmerize us with your creativity and literary skills in its first ever Flash Fiction contest titled 'Coefficient of Fiction'.

The history of physics is as rich as the subject itself. It is full of interesting trivia like the story of the person who invented the telescope before Galileo did or the illiterate apprentice of a bookseller who went on to revolutionize physics later on. Apart from history there are interesting phenomena which are yet to be solved like inflation and superconductivity for which we peer out into the future. If you're very passionate about this subject then come-participate and enlighten yourself in the unheard tales of physics with the Braintropy quiz!

The stage is set for the second edition of the unique symposium organised by the undergraduates-for the undergraduates. There's no dearth of young students in India who are doing cutting edge research in physics well before their PhDs. If you're one of them then wait no more for here is the opportunity to present your work before peers from across the country through lectures or posters.
