College Formerly Known as DMET then renamed as MERI. now IMU. DMET (Directorate of Marine Engineering Training) was established by Govt.

of India in 1949 with its head office at Kolkata and a branch at Mumbai. In 1995 DMET was rechristened Marine Engg. and Research Institute (MERI). With the formation Indian Maritime University on 14th November 2008 the institute (erstwhile MERI), subsumed into IMU and is presently known as IMU Kolkata Campus. It offers:
