It achieved first recognition from The Calcutta University when this school was well-known as Saraswati Institution. Initially it was running in a rented house and later on shifted to 62A Shyampukur Street. In the year 1933 , 1934 and 1951 students stood first in their Entrance Examinations and during the period many luminaries passed out with brilliant results from this school. After the sad demi
se of Babu Sailendra Sircar the school was renamed as Sailendra Sircar Vidyalaya as a token of gratitude and respect to its founder . sponsored school in the year 1979 . With the golden touch of Late Shri Jyotirbikash Mitra ( First National Teacher of West Bengal ) the school reached its crescendo of success and continued its tradition year after year . Many Headmasters occupied the chair and put their best efforts to promote this school to keep its past performance in tact . Presently under the honest guidance of Hon’ble Justice Shyamal Kumar Sen ( Ex-student & President of the Managing Committee) , Hon’ble Justice Kolkata High Court Shri Ashim Banerjee ( Ex-student & Life member of the Managing Committee ) , and Dr. Sahadev Bandyopadhyay (Headmaster & Secretary) and with the whole hearted co-operation and untiring effort of our teachers and non-teaching staff . Sailendra Sircar Vidyalaya holds its tradition and marches ahead to a better future. We are proud to announce that our present Headmaster , Dr. Sahadev Bandyopadhyay is a recipient of National Teacher Award 2013 which was awarded by the Hon'ble President of India on 5th September 2014 and that for the 2nd time of our school. We are also proud for Dr. Sasanka Purkait , a senior teacher of Physics who got Siksha Ratna Puroskar awarded by the Hon'ble Chief Minister , Govt. Of West Bengal on 5th September 2015 .
