📢 Industrial Visit 2026 | Department of Information Technology

The Department of Information Technology, Future Institute of Engineering and Management, successfully conducted an Industrial Visit to Techno Exponent, Sector V, Kolkata on 20th May 2026.

The visit offered students an excellent opportunity to gain practical exposure to the corporate environment, industry workflows, and modern technological practices followed in the IT sector. Through meaningful interactions with industry professionals, students were able to enhance their understanding of real-world applications beyond classroom learning.

Such initiatives help nurture professional awareness, technical knowledge, and industry readiness among aspiring IT professionals.

📢 Seminar on “AI Applications and Future Careers”

The Department of Information Technology, Future Institute of Engineering and Management, successfully organized a departmental seminar on “AI Applications and Future Careers” on 18th May 2026 at SG Hall, FIEM.

The seminar was attended exclusively by the students of the Department of Information Technology and served as an engaging platform to explore the growing impact of Artificial Intelligence and its future opportunities in the tech industry.

The session was delivered by Dr. Sabyasachi Saha - CEO, Chief AI Scientist, and Ph.D. in AI, who shared valuable insights into AI applications, emerging technologies, career prospects, and industry expectations in domains such as Machine Learning, Blockchain, and Cloud Computing.

The interactive session inspired students to broaden their understanding of modern technologies and encouraged them to prepare for the future of innovation-driven careers.

The Department extends its sincere gratitude to Dr. Sabyasachi Saha for conducting such an insightful and enriching session for our students.

BLITZ26 & DICE KINGS ARENA 2026

The Department of Information Technology, Future Institute of Engineering and Management, successfully organized its intra-departmental gaming events “Blitz26” (Chess) and “Dice Kings Arena 2026” (Ludo) on 8th May 2026 at SG Hall, FIEM.
The competitions witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who showcased exceptional strategic thinking, concentration, analytical abilities, and sportsmanship throughout the events. The vibrant and competitive atmosphere made the program both intellectually enriching and highly engaging for everyone present.

🏏 ELITE CRICKET CUP 2026 🏆

The Department of Information Technology, Future Institute of Engineering and Management successfully organized the Elite Cricket Cup 2026 at the FIEM Ground on 10th April 2026.

Students from 1st Year, 2nd Year, and 3rd Year enthusiastically participated in the tournament, showcasing incredible sportsmanship, teamwork, and competitive spirit throughout the event.

🎉 Congratulations to the 3rd Year students for emerging as the Champions of the tournament!

A special mention to Dr. Prosenjit Mukherjee, the Convenor of the event, whose initiative and efforts made this tournament a grand success.

The event witnessed the presence and support of all faculty members and students, making the atmosphere energetic and memorable for everyone.

The IT Department of Future Institute of Engineering and Management (FIEM) successfully organized the publication of its Wall Magazine “Srishti” on 24th April 2026. The theme of the magazine, “Festivals of Bengal,” highlighted the rich cultural heritage, traditions, and vibrant celebrations of West Bengal.

The wall magazine showcased articles, drawings, poems, and informative write-ups prepared by students, reflecting festivals such as Durga Puja, Poila Boishakh, Rash Utsav, Saraswati Puja, Kali Puja, and Poush Mela. The event aimed to encourage creativity among students and promote awareness of Bengal’s diverse cultural identity.

The publication was coordinated by Prof. Souvik Biswas, whose guidance and support ensured the successful completion of the event. Students enthusiastically participated and contributed their ideas, making the wall magazine both attractive and informative.

Special thanks are extended to the respected Head of the Department, Dr. Prosenjit Mukherjee, for his constant encouragement and support. Gratitude is also expressed to Prof. Prosenjit Basu for his valuable assistance and motivation throughout the program. We extend our sincere gratitude to all members of the department for their support in making this initiative a success.

The event was a great success and served as an excellent platform for students to express their creativity while celebrating the beauty of Bengal’s festivals.

The Department of Information Technology organized its first Hand-Drawn Poster Making Competition 2026 on 1st April 2026 at the departmental labs (2:30 PM – 4:30 PM).

The theme, “Technology for Water Conservation: A Step Towards a Sustainable Society,” inspired students to present creative and meaningful ideas. Participants competed in teams of two and showcased commendable effort and originality.

The First Prize was awarded to Ritika Bonik and Sampurna Dutta (1st Year).

The event was smoothly coordinated by Prof. Ishani Das. We extend our sincere gratitude to HOD sir and all members of the department for their support in making this initiative a success.
