Antarctica conceals one of the planet’s most bizarre wonders — a waterfall that appears to pour out real blood.
Known as Blood Falls, it emerges from deep beneath the ancient Taylor Glacier.

Even in temperatures that should freeze everything solid, this strange stream keeps flowing. How?
Its water is extremely salty — almost three times saltier than seawater — which prevents it from freezing no matter how cold it gets.

And that startling red color?
It isn’t blood at all. The water is rich in iron, and as soon as it meets the air, the iron rusts, transforming the flow into a vivid, blood-red cascade.

A hidden world beneath the ice.
A waterfall that “bleeds” without life.
Proof that nature still holds mysteries stranger than anything we imagine.

Historically, India experienced **Stage 1** of demographic transition, characterized by both high birth and death rates. Following independence, the nation progressed to **Stage 2**, where improved healthcare and sanitation led to falling death rates but birth rates remained high, resulting in rapid population growth. At present, the majority of India is in **Stage 3**, marked by declining birth rates and sustained low death rates, which translates to slower population growth. Interestingly, some southern states are even approaching **Stage 4**, indicating further demographic maturity.

🏜️🏝️*The Sahara Was Once a Green, Fertile Land*🏜️

When we hear about the Sahara Desert, we usually picture endless sand dunes, dry landscapes, and extreme heat. But surprisingly, thousands of years ago, the Sahara was a lush, green, and fertile region.

About 10,000 years ago, the Sahara wasn’t a desert at all. It was filled with grassy plains, flowing rivers, and large lakes. Trees thrived, animals wandered freely, and people made their homes there. This period in history is known as the African Humid Period, a time when the area received a lot of rainfall, making it ideal for farming and hunting.

Numerous scientists have examined ancient rock art discovered in the Sahara. These artworks depict animals like cattle, elephants, and giraffes, as well as people swimming. Such images provide strong evidence that the region once had abundant water and supported both wildlife and human life.

So, what caused this transformation?

Over thousands of years, changes in the Earth's tilt and orbit led to shifts in climate. Gradually, rainfall decreased, the land became dry, and the once-green Sahara turned into the vast desert we know today. Some researchers also suggest that human activities, such as overgrazing and fire management, may have contributed to the desertification process.

The history of the Sahara shows us that climate change is a natural process that can bring about major changes. It also reminds us that the Earth’s landscapes are not permanent—they can evolve slowly over time.

The Sahara is still hiding ancient river beds under the sand. Scientists are using satellites to discover more about this hidden “Green Sahara.”

Typhoon Tip, which formed in October 1979, holds the record as the largest tropical cyclone ever observed. It spanned a massive 1,380 miles (2,220 km) in diameter—nearly twice the size of the previous record-holder. It was also the most intense tropical cyclone ever recorded in terms of minimum central pressure, dropping to 870 hPa.

Typhoon Tip developed in the western region of the Pacific Ocean. It remained active for 20 days, from its formation on October 4, 1979, until it dissipated on October 24, 1979. It reached its peak strength on October 12.
