Medical PG AIQ Counseling from 4th April

The Medical Counselling Committee has announced the revised schedule for online PG All India Quota Counseling-2014 in compliance of the order dated 14.03.2014 of the Supreme Court in WP(C) 433 of 2013.

Registration, choice filling/locking done by qualified candidates earlier between 28.02.2014 and 07.03.2014 will be treated as null and void and cancelled. All qualified candidates interested in participating in online PG All India Quota Counseling are required to register and complete procedure, afresh, as mentioned in the schedule now announced.

Facility for Registration will be available from 4.4.2014 to 5 pm on 9.4.2014 only and will be valid for all round of counseling. There will not be any fresh registration, before 3rd Round. The facility for Choice Filling will also commence on 4th April for those registered. Indicative Seat will be available between 4th and 9th April. Choice filling will continue on 10th April and up to 5 pm on 11th April also, during which period, locking of choices will have to be done by the candidates.

Round I Seat Allotment will be processed between 12th April 2014 (Saturday) and 15th April 2014 (Tuesday) and the results of round 1 will be announced on 16th April, 2014 (Wednesday). Those getting allotment, will have to report at the Allotted Medical /Dental College against 1st Round allotment between 17th April (Thursday) 2014 and 5 pm on 26th April (Saturday) 2014.

Round 2 Seat Allotment will be processed between 9th May (Friday) 2014 and 12th May (Monday) 2014 and the Round 2 Result will be published on 13th May (Tuesday) 2014. Those getting allotment in Round 2 should report at the Allotted Medical /Dental College against Round 2 between 14th May (Wednesday) 2014 and 5 pm on 24th May 2014 (Saturday).

Compilation and publication of net vacant seats available for allotment during Round 3 will be carried out during 25th May 2014 (Sunday) and 30th May 2014 (Friday). Choice Submission by candidates eligible for Round 3 can be done from 31st May 2014 (Saturday) to 3rd June 2014 (Tuesday).

Exercising of Choices and Locking can be done up to 5 pm on 4th June, 2014 (Wednesday). Round 3 seat allotment processing will be carried out between 5th June 2014 (Thursday) and 8th June 2014(Sunday).

Round 3 Result Publication will be done on 9th June 2014 (Monday). MBA 2014 Admission at MANIT, Bhopal

Kochi: Application are invited by Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology, Bhopal (MANIT) for admission to the MBA Full Time (2 years) course 2014-15

Eligibility: The candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA (55% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe / OBC), of any of the Universities incorporated in any act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institution established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956 or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. The Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent. Candidates appearing for the final examination of bachelor’s degree / equivalent qualification can also apply. Such candidates, if selected, will be allowed to join the programme provisionally and will be required to submit the result / Mark sheet by September, 2014. In case eligible OBC candidates are not available the vacant seats under OBC category will be filled up by waitlisted General Category candidates as per merit.

Admission Procedure: Candidates applying for MBA are required to have qualified in CAT-2013. The admission to MBA will be on the basis of CAT score, Group discussion / Personal interview. Passing XII after PG no hurdle for posting

Chennai: The Madras High Court has held that completing class XII after finishing post graduate degree is not a hurdle for appointment. Allowing a petition by V Kanimozhi challenging the order of the Teachers' Recruitment Board (TRB), which rejected her candidature for the post of teacher, Justice S Nagamuthu directed it to consider her appointment as Post Graduate Assistant Teacher in Tamil within four weeks.

Kanimozhi had earlier failed in class XII examination. Then under the Open University Scheme of the University of Madras, she did BA in Tamil and secured a degree. Thereafter she joined B.Ed regular course and obtained the degree. Later she secured MA degree under regular course from Annamalai University.

Realising that unless she had passed class XII examination she would not be eligible for appointment as Post Graduate Assistant Teacher, she did the course privately and passed the examination. The TRB rejected Kanimozhi's candidature on the ground that she passed the class XII examination after completing all other degree courses.

Kanimozhi submitted that she had passed the teachers examination test held on July 21 last year and was called for certificate verification. After the process of verification was over, TRB published the final list in which her name was not found. TRB rejected her candidature quoting that she has not studied the courses in order.

The judge while quoting a Division Bench Judgment of Madras High Court, said, "It is crystal clear that as per the law laid down by the Division Bench the requirements shall stand satisfied if the candidate has studied 12th standard after completing B.A degree course. "In other words, because courses are done in reverse order, it is no matter at all," the judge said, quashing the order of rejection by TRB and directed it to consider the appointment of Kanimozhi.

Academic Eligibility
-------------------------------
Candidates must have passed the qualifying examination, i.e. Senior Secondary [10+2] or equivalent from any system of education as recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Candidate should have completed successfully Mathematics, Physics and any one of the subjects from (Chemistry, Bio-technology, Computer Science, Biology) - in 11th AND / OR 12th, as applicable in the respective boards.

AND
Must have secured a minimum of at least 60% aggregate marks or 6.75 CGPA (on a 10 point scale) or equivalent in the qualifying examination. Candidates appearing for the qualifying examination with the above-mentioned subjects in the academic year 2013-14 and expecting their final results latest by September 15, 2014 may also apply.

AND

Candidates should have a minimum total valid score of 1440 in SAT Subject Tests (Subjects: Mathematics Level 2, Physics and Chemistry). For more details on SAT Subject Tests visit website: www.collegeboard.com. SAT subject test score has to be sent directly through CollegeBoard to NITK (Institute Code: 6530). SAT subject test scores received till May 31, 2014 only will be considered for preparation of the first, second and third merit lists.

Residential Requirement
---------------------------------------
Candidates must be Foreign Nationals/ Persons of Indian Origin who have completed the qualifying examination in any country (including India) OR Indian Nationals studying abroad. In case of Indian Nationals, they must have completed their 11th and 12th standard or equivalent from outside India

Application Fee payment
----------------------------------------
Registration Fee and First Semester Tuition Fee: A total amount of US$ 3,750 [US Dollars Three thousand seven hundred and fifty only] towards non-refundable registration fee of US$ 250 and first semester Tuition Fee of US$ 3,500 is required to be paid along with the application form. Nationals of SAARC countries (except India) are eligible for 50% Tuition Fee waiver provided they have passed the qualifying examination in SAARC countries. They are required to pay an amount of US$ 2,000 (which includes US$ 1,750 towards first semester tuition fee and a non refundable registration fee of US$250). The fee can be paid either through SWIFT Transfer or e-payment. Charges for fee payment, if any, should be borne by the candidate.

Submission of Application

The submission of application is a two step process, both are essential.
i. Online application (http://www.dasanit.org) and submission of signed print copy of the application along with required documents and payment details to DASA Office, NITK Surathkal
ii. SAT subject test score to be sent to NITK Surathkal electronically through College Board, USA (Institute Code 6530)
