We speak a lot about communication but, what is communication? Have we ever bothered to ponder this question. Communication is transactional which means an excange of ideas, feelings, emotions or just gossip.
But what makes a good communicator? A good communicator is one who can not only communicate well but hold the other person's attention for as long as he is speaking.
How does one achieve this? One achieves this by having a full understanding of the topic they are dealing with and are focussed on the message they want to deliver and how exactly they wish to conclude.
One aspect that a communicator must avoid is repetition just for the sake of filling gaps. This is a communication killer. If you begin strongly and decisively, you must continue in the same vein because, the moment you lose the attention of the listener, communication dies since, as I have stated in the beginning, communication is transactional.
As long as one is rich in ideas, he/she will be able to keep the listener gripped but once ideas run out, the better option would be to conclude
Stay connected, stay focussed and be clear and allow ideas to flow like a mellifluous stream
