🌏 The Terrifying Scale of the Gathering on the Plain of Resurrection

Sahl ibn Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: On the Day of Resurrection, the people will be gathered on a reddish-white land like a flat loaf of bread made of pure wheat. Sahl or someone else said: There will be no landmark for anyone to settle on. The Prophet ﷺ described the scene where the vastness of the plain will be leveled, with no hills, valleys, or trees for shade or concealment. Every soul will stand in absolute exposure before the Creator. The Prophet ﷺ continued by explaining that the people will be gathered in such a state that they will be barefooted, naked, and uncircumcised. Then he recited the verse: As We began the first creation, We shall repeat it. It is a promise binding upon Us. Indeed, We will do it. He then mentioned that the first person to be clothed on the Day of Resurrection will be Ibrahim (peace be upon him). Then some men from my Ummah will be taken towards the left, and I will say: O my Lord! My companions! It will be said: You do not know what they innovated after you. So I will say as the righteous servant, Isa (peace be upon him), said: And I was a witness over them as long as I remained among them, but when You took me up, You were the Observer over them.
