All of us have a deep craving inside us to be seen to be heard and to be appreciated. 😇Genuine appreciation helps to connect people, nurture relationships, It even heals deep emotional wounds.🙂
✅ A person who is appreciative of oneself will very often be appreciative of others and everything else around them. ✅So the first place to start working is on yourself.
👇🏽 are a few exercises that you can practise on yourself to work on self appreciation.
Exercises for self
1) Gratitude Journal: Write down 3-5 things you’re thankful for daily or weekly, noting why you’re grateful.
2) Gratitude Jar: Write notes of appreciation on slips of paper and put them in a jar to read later.
3) Gratitude Walk: Take a mindful walk, noticing and appreciating the beauty and positive aspects of your surroundings.
For others
1) Appreciation Notes/Letters: Write and send thank-you notes or letters to people who have positively impacted you.
2) Appreciation Train (or Circle): Stand in a circle, and one by one, give genuine positive feedback or appreciation to the person next to you.
3) Acts of Kindness: Perform small favors or volunteer to help others, fostering connection and gratitude.
4) Share a Meal: Have a “Gratitude Dinner” where everyone shares what they appreciate.
