“If India bat through the final day, they will have saved the match.”

🧠 Grammar Focus: Future Perfect Tense

🔹 What is it?

The future perfect describes an action that will be completed before a specific time in the future.

🔹 Structure:

Subject + will have + past participle (V3)

🔹 In the example:
• “will have saved” → This shows an action that will be completed in the future (saving the match)
• The condition: If India bat through the final day (by the end of Day 5)

🧩 So:
➡️ The action of “saving the match” will be finished before the future point (end of the match).
