A Grand Success: Science Festival 2026 at Egra Public School

​Egra Public School’s Science Club, Creative Corner, successfully hosted the Science Festival 2026, a two-day extravaganza of scientific exploration, innovation, and learning on the 1st and 2nd of August 2026. The festival aimed to foster a spirit of inquiry, critical thinking, and a deeper appreciation among students across all grades.

# ​Day 1: Sparking Curiosity (1st August, 2026)
​The first day of the festival was dedicated to the enthusiastic young minds of Classes One to Five. The campus was buzzing with excitement as junior students showcased their creativity through two main events:
● ​Science Model Exhibition: Students presented interactive and imaginative models demonstrating basic scientific principles, ranging from the water cycle to renewable energy.
● ​Science Quiz: A highly competitive quiz tested the students' general scientific knowledge and quick thinking.
​The event was graced by Prof. Dr. Dipak Hazra, Department of Physics, Egra SSB College, who served as the keynote speaker. Prof. Hazra’s engaging and interactive address captivated the young audience, encouraging them to observe the "magic of science" in their everyday lives and to never stop asking questions.

# ​Day 2: Advanced Innovation & A Tribute (2nd August, 2026)
​The second day elevated the academic rigor, focusing on the senior students from Classes Six to Twelve.
● ​Science Model Exhibition: Senior students presented highly sophisticated models addressing complex modern problems, including robotics, environmental conservation, and physics applications.
● ​PPT Presentations: Students delivered meticulously researched digital presentations on various advanced scientific topics, demonstrating both their subject knowledge and communication skills.
● ​Special Observance:
A major highlight of the second day was the solemn observance of the 165th Birth Anniversary of Acharya Prafulla Chandra Roy, the legendary Indian chemist and educator. The school paid tribute to his monumental contributions to science and industry in India, inspiring students to emulate his dedication to national progress through scientific research.
● ​Keynote Speakers:
The second day was honored by the presence of two highly distinguished academicians:
​Prof. Dr. Pradipta Panchadhayayee, Department of Physics (UG & PG), Contai PK College.
​Retd. Prof. Dr. Chittaranjan Sinha, Department of Chemistry, Jadavpur University.
​Both speakers delivered thought-provoking addresses. They reflected on the enduring legacy of Acharya P.C. Roy, discussed the future of scientific research, and motivated the students to pursue higher education and careers in STEM fields.
● ​Conclusion and Prize Distribution:
​The Science Festival 2026 culminated in a grand valedictory ceremony. To recognize the hard work, innovative thinking, and scientific acumen of the participants, prizes and certificates were distributed among the position holders across all events.
​The two-day festival organized by Creative Corner was a resounding success, leaving the students of Egra Public School deeply inspired and motivated to continue their journey of scientific discovery.

​Egra Public School shines bright once again! Our talented students have brought immense pride to the school with their stellar performances at the recent CISCE Zonal Karate Competition (Junior Category).
​Join us in celebrating our champions:
​🥇 Abhijit Das Mahapatra (Class X) – Secured the 1st Position in the Under 19 (72–74 kg) category! With this incredible feat, he has officially qualified for the Regional Level of the competition!
🥈 Alipa Das (Class IX) – Secured the 2nd Position in the Under 17 (45–50 kg) category, bringing home the Silver medal!
🥉 Ankit Maity (Class X) – Secured the 3rd Position in the Under 19 (50–54 kg) category, earning a well-deserved Bronze medal!
