We wanted to advice students on career planning in our very first post of Weekend ka Gyan and couldn’t find anyone better than Rancho and Chatur as examples. Rancchoddas Shyamaldas Chanchad (Rancho) and Chatur Ramalingam -the most popular characters of this legendary movie ‘3 Idiots’. While the former is inspiration for many, the latter is detested by all. However, we feel there’s so much to learn from Chatur too! All were so busy glorifying Ranchos character that we almost forgot Chatur too was a vice-president of a reputable corporation in United States. Hence, we have compiled the following points as lessons from these epic characters–

1. Remember how Chatur had ended up making a fool of himself while narrating that epic speech on teacher’s day?! Well haven’t we all done this at some point of time in our life in some or the other way? However, what makes Chatur different is that he was still confident about his dreams, so much that he actually challenged the great “Rancchoddas Shyamaldas Chanchad (Rancho)”. Hence, no matter what always believe in your dreams and career choices even if at times people take you for a fool. (Also, he was the one who actually helped Raju and Farhan find Rancho) 😄
2. Coming to our favorite character Rancho … we all know he’s a star and gave us the ultimate mantra of life “Success ke peeche Mat Bhaago, Excellence ka peecha karo, Success Jhak maarke Tumhare peeche ayegi”. Surely this line has inspired many lives but we want you to actually ponder on a bit more on the word “Success”. Well doesn’t success mean different to all? To Chatur it was about money (which is completely fine) but for Rancho it was more about empowering lives. Hence, when you are making a choice for your career do not set the bar based on someone else’s parameter. It’s one thing to be inspired by “Sharma ji ka beta”; it’s another thing to be part of the race you don’t want to be because of him. Everyone has their own journey, own way and own timeline of finding success.
