Bhagini Nivedita College Bhagini Nivedita College (BNC) is a constituent college of University of Delhi. It was established by the then Delhi Administration in August. B.A.

It was established by the then Delhi Administration in August, 1993 as a 'Women's College' in the South Western part of Delhi. It is now funded and supported by the Government of Delhi. The college is named after Sister Nivedita, a disciple of Swami Vivekanand who dedicated her whole life for the education and welfare of women. Its campus is located adjacent to village Kair near to Najafgarh in a

clean and green environment surrounded by farms and trees. Starting with only B A (Pass), B A (Hons.) Hindi in 1993, BNC has progressively added more courses. B.Com (Pass) was introduced in 1996-97. BNC was the first Delhi University college to offer Apparel Dsign and Construction course in 1997. Programme replaced the B A (Pass) course in 2004. A variety of new application courses were also instituted along with it. BNC became an arts,commerce and science college with the launching of B.Sc Applied Physical Sciences course in 2007. The semester system was introduced for all the courses in 2010. Every course is taught six semesters and each semester offers the opportunity for the students to complete different papers that are required for the completion of the entire course. The annual mode will get completely phased out in 2013. The college has adopted the Four Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP) from the academic year 2013-14. As a result, all the previous undergraduate courses like B.A, B,Com and B.SC degree courses will get phased out by 2015-16. Under the new four year undergraduate programme of Delhi University, the college now offers the following Discipline I Courses

Home Science
Physics and
Political Science
The college will also offer Discipline II and Applied Courses as deemed necessary, in due course

The annual intake of fresh admissions is now well over 550. The student strength is thus set to increase significantly and almost double itself over the next three years

BNC has a total teaching faculty of 67 members consisting of 42 permanent and 21 Adhoc and 4 Guest members. The total number of Non-Teaching Staff working in the college is 40. This includes 20 permanent and 20 Contractual Appointments. Since its inception, BNC has built up an impressive reputation and record in both academics and sports. The teaching faculty consists of highly qualified academicians. It has excellent laboratories, infrastructure facilities and supporting staff.

अकसर लड़कियों को ये शिकायत होती है कि लड़कों को हर प्रकार की आजादी होती है। वह कुछ भी करे, कहीं भी जाए उस पर कोई खास टोका टाकी नहीं होती।
इसके विपरीत लड़कियों को बात बात पर टोका जाता है। यह मत करो, यहाँ मत जाओ, घर
जल्दी आ जाओ। आदि आदि।

एक संत ने उसकी बात सुनी और मुस्कुराने लगे। उसके बाद उन्होंने कहा, बालिका तुमने कभी लोहे
की दुकान के बाहर पड़े लोहे के गार्डर देखे हैं.? ये गार्डर सर्दी, गर्मी, बरसात, रात दिन इसी प्रकार
पड़े रहते हैं। इसके बावजूद इनकी कीमत पर कोई अन्तर नहीं पड़ता। लड़कों की फितरत कुछ इसी प्रकार की है समाज में।

अब तुम चलो एक जौहरी की दुकान में। एक बड़ी तिजोरी, उसमें एक छोटी तिजोरी। उसके अन्दर
कोई छोटा सा चोर-खाना। उसमें से छोटी सी डिब्बी निकालेगा। डिब्बी में रेशम
बिछा होगा। उस पर होगा "हीरा"। क्योंकि वह जानता है कि अगर हीरे में जरा भी खरोंच
आ गई तो उसकी कोई कीमत नहीं रहेगी। समाज में लड़कियों की अहमियत कुछ इसी प्रकार
की है, हीरे की तरह। जरा सी खरोंच से उसका और उसके परिवार के पास
कुछ नहीं रहता। बस यही अन्तर है लड़कियों और लड़कों में।
इस से साफ है कि परिवार लड़कियों की परवाह अधिक करता है।

शायद आप की समझ में आ गया होगा कि क्यों बच्चियों की फिक्र ज्यादा होती है...
इसीलिए आप सब ये कदापि ना सोचें के परिवार-जन आपको ज्यादा टोका-टाकी करते हैं, तो वो आपसे प्यार कम करते हैं अपितु यह तो उनका आप के प्रति अत्याधिक स्नेह और चिंता करके स्वाभाविक व्यवहार है !!

दोस्तों का एक पुराना ग्रुप कॉलेज छोड़ने के बहुत दिनों बाद मिला। वे सभी अपने-अपने करियर में बहुत अच्छा कर रहे थे और खूब पैसे कमा रहे थे। जब आपस में मिलते -जुलते काफी वक़्त बीत गया तो उन्होंने अपने सबसे फेवरेट प्रोफेसर के घर जाकर मिलने का निश्चय किया। प्रोफेसर साहब ने उन सभी का स्वागत किया और बारी-बारी से उनके काम के बारे में पूछने लगे। धीरे-धीरे बात लाइफ में बढ़ती स्ट्रेस और काम के प्रेशर पर आ गयी। इस मुद्दे पर सभी एक मत थे कि भले वे अब आर्थिक रूप से बहुत मजबूत हों पर उनकी लाइफ में अब वो मजा नहीं रह गया जो पहले हुआ करता था। प्रोफेसर साहब बड़े ध्यान से उनकी बातें सुन रहे थे , वे अचानक ही उठे और थोड़ी देर बाद किचन से लौटे सुर बोले , ” डीयर स्टूडेंट्स , मैं आपके लिए गरमा-गरम कॉफ़ी लेकर आया हूँ , लेकिन प्लीज आप सब किचन में जाकर अपने-अपने लिए कप्स लेते आइये। ” , लड़के तेजी से अंदर गए, वहाँ कई तरह के कप रखे हुए थे , सभी अपने लिए अच्छा से अच्छा कप उठाने में लग गये , किसी ने क्रिस्टल का शानदार कप उठाया तो किसी ने पोर्सिलेन का कप सेलेक्ट किया, तो किसी ने शीशे का कप उठाया। जब सभी के हाथों में कॉफी आ गयी तो प्रोफ़ेसर साहब बोले , ” अगर आपने ध्यान दिया हो तो , जो कप दिखने में अच्छे और महंगे थे आपने उन्हें ही चुना और साधारण दिखने वाले कप्स की तरफ ध्यान नहीं दिया। जहाँ एक तरफ अपने लिए सबसे अच्छे की चाह रखना एक नॉर्मल बात है वहीँ दूसरी तरफ ये हमारी लाइफ में प्रोब्लम्स और स्ट्रेस लेकर आता है। फ्रेंड्स, ये तो पक्का है कि कप चाय की क्वालिटी में कोई बदलाव नहीं लाता। ये तो बस एक जरिया है जिसके माध्यम से आप कॉफी पीते हैं… असल में जो आपको चाहिए था वो बस कॉफ़ी थी, कप नहीं , पर फिर भी आप सब सबसे अच्छे कप के पीछे ही गए और अपना लेने के बाद दूसरों के कप निहारने लगे। अब इस बात को ध्यान से सुनिये , — ये लाइफ कॉफ़ी की तरह है ; हमारी नौकरी , पैसा , पोजीशन , कप की तरह हैं। ये बस लाइफ जीने के साधन हैं खुद लाइफ नहीं ! और हमारे पास कौन सा कप है ये न हमारी लाइफ को डिफाइन करता है और ना ही उसे चेंज करता है। कॉफी की चिंता करिये कप की नहीं। दुनिए के सबसे खुशहाल लोग वो नहीं होते जिनके पास सबकुछ सबसे बढ़िए होता है , वे तो जो होता है बस उसका सबसे अच्छे से यूज़ करते हैं। सादगी से जियो। सबसे प्रेम करो। सबकी केअर करो। यही असली जीना है।”
