World Environment Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm on 5 June 2026 at Lyallpur Khalsa College for Women, Jalandhar. The programme was jointly organized by the NSS Department, Red Ribbon Club, and NCC Department with the objective of creating awareness among students about environmental conservation and sustainable living.

The celebration commenced with an informative lecture by Ms. Arpit Kaur, who highlighted the importance of preserving the environment and encouraged students to adopt eco-friendly practices in their daily lives. Her insightful address inspired the students to become responsible stewards of nature.

A tree plantation drive was organized on the college campus, during which students and faculty members planted saplings and pledged to contribute towards a greener environment. A poster display was also arranged to spread awareness about environmental issues and the need for collective action to protect natural resources.

As part of the celebrations, the students visited the Botanical Garden of the college and learned about various plant species and their significance in maintaining ecological balance.

Madam Principal, Dr. Sarabjit Kaur Rai, appreciated the efforts of all the organizing members and congratulated them on the successful conduct of the programme. She also lauded the dedication and active participation of A.N.O. Lieutenant Dr. Rupali Razdan, Mrs. Ritu Rai, Mrs. Manjeet Kaur, and Dr. Sarabjit Kaur in making the event meaningful and impactful.

The programme concluded with a renewed commitment from all participants to work towards environmental protection and sustainable development. ‎
