Class 4 has been learning about Japan Laan in their History and Geography block. Today we visited at Nambol to gain more knowledge of this important episode in Manipur’s history. We also discussed about our experience sitting in the museum garden and tried to make sense of the senselessness of war.

Welcome to the third issue of Yakairol. This issue recounts the last two months of cold and warmth, of a year ending and another beginning. Winter set in, while the school filled with the warmth of festive cheer. Cool mornings, cozy classrooms, and joyful gatherings marked this special time of the year. Along with the change in season, the spirit of celebration brought music, colours, and shared moments that brightened our days. Winter invites reflection and creativity, and as we emerge from the cold, this edition of Yaikairol captures the learning, festivities, and togetherness that made this season meaningful for our school community.

A winter sun huddle with Tangja Yambem, clinical psychologist and a proud parent to two Yakai kids. It was a casual but productive discussion on addressing neurodiversity in classrooms, and a step towards finding ways of working together with families to meet the holistic needs of our students. This is how we are pulling the curtain on 2025. The year has been kind to us. We are looking forward to all the exciting developments the next one is certain to bring!

K*m, humbly meaning the year, is the name we gave to our annual school festival starting this year. With the culmination of the last four seasons lived in this school, it is an occasion for us to celebrate our school culture along with our well-wishers. We are dedicating this year’s festival to the memory of a much cherished chingthrao tree in our campus, which returned to earth last summer. Celebration is gratitude, and with Chingthrao gi k*m we relive the joyous moments spent among its branches.
