We are thrilled and excited to share that the manuscript of 'First functional and taxonomics insight into the microbiome of edible snail , Cipangopaludinia lecythis via shotgun metagenomics' has been officially accepted for publication in the prestigious journal Antonie van Leeuwenhoek, Netherlands and Germany a highly reputed SCI-indexed journal published by Springer Nature.

This acceptance is especially meaningful because it comes after multiple rounds of rigorous editor and reviewer comments, and countless late-night revisions, corrections, and improvements. All the hard work, persistence, and dedication have finally paid off!

It is indexed in the world’s most valued scientific databases, the Science Citation Index (SCI). Importantly, within India’s Government funding agencies, SCI-indexed journals are valued far more than other indexing systems although many researchers often mistakenly assume that Scopus and other databases are the top criteria. This acceptance therefore carries greater academic and policy-level weight for future funding, evaluation, and recognition. Adding to the significance, this publication represents the first-ever global report on the microbiome and microbiology of Labuk Tharoi. This is a remarkable scientific contribution and a milestone achievement for our research team.

Importantly, this accomplishment brings a major research highlight for Manipur International University (MIU) on both national and international platforms. It will also contribute substantial research points for UGC and other Government bodies, strengthening MIU’s academic visibility and institutional recognition.

Victory for Resilience: Manipur International University Honored as ‘Best University of Manipur’ at Grand Vijay Diwas Celebrations in New Delhi.

New Delhi / Imphal — December 16, 2025 — Manipur International University (MIU) shines on the national stage, receiving the prestigious ‘Pride of Nation Award 2025’ amidst a gathering of national leaders and defense icons.

In a historic moment resonating with regional pride and academic excellence, the university was conferred the title of “Best University of Manipur” during the poignant Vijay Diwas celebrations held at the NDMC Convention Centre, New Delhi. The event, organized by Veterans India - an organization led by patriotic ex-servicemen; recognized institutions that have transcended traditional academics to foster patriotism, leadership, and national unity.
A Recognition of National Importance
This was not merely an academic convocation; it was a celebration of the spirit of India. The event was supported, endorsed, and held in collaboration with the apex bodies of Indian education: AIU, AICTE, NAAC, NBA, NETF, and EPSI.

Receiving the award on behalf of the university was Prof. Dr. Harikumar Pallathadka, Chancellor of MIU. Standing amidst decorated war veterans and national policymakers, Dr. Pallathadka dedicated the award to the resilient spirit of the people of Manipur.

A Torchbearer for Manipur
In a selection process that scrutinized over 1,000 universities across India, MIU emerged victorious as the standard-bearer for the state of Manipur.

The selection was ratified by a high-powered 5-member jury headed by the Former Justice of the Kerala High Court, Shri P. N. Raveendran. The jury looked beyond textbooks, evaluating institutions on parameters of "Nation Building," "Youth Empowerment," "Community Service," and "Value-Based Education."

The award ceremony was witnessed by a galaxy of dignitaries who shape the defense and educational landscape of India, including:

We are pleased to share the successful completion of the Kundalini Yoga and Self-Realisation Workshop, conducted in collaboration with the HH Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi Sahaja Yoga Trust, Manipur Centre, and the Department of Yoga, MIU.
Held on 28–29 November and 5–6 December 2025, the programme offered meaningful insights into Kundalini awakening, meditation, and the experiential process of self-realisation.

The program underscored the vital role of women farmers in fostering ecological resilience, community-based resource management, and innovative income-generating practices such as pearl aquaculture.
