“Service to Humanity is Service to God”
We often hear such proverbs but seldom see exemplars to them. 'Kasturibai Self-employment training centre' is one such example, trying to assist blind women. Located in Kurugunta (Anantapur District), the organization is providing shelter and education with a homely atmosphere to 25 blind women since 11+ years.
Let's offer little support to this great cause!
Your small step can make a big difference. Come contribute.

TEACHERS - The pillars
Our recent visit to Louis Braille School for Blind, Narsapur, Medak Dt., has reflected the plight of teaching in the institution. The school has only 3 teachers, managing all the 7 subjects in the curriculum. In the absence of a proper funding structure, the school is unable to afford more teachers. As a result, the teachers are finding it difficult to administer the existing responsibilities properly. A little support from your end can help the school hire new teachers and provide quality education to these specially-abled students.
Support the Cause!
Even a small contribution will help us offer a better education to the special children, and help them lead a better life. Here are the different way you may help and support the cause:
- Hiring an additional teacher would cost INR 4000 per month. (The cost structure is effective from June 2016 to May 2017)
- If you feel able to make a monthly donation, however small it is, we could sponsor a teacher for the school.
- However, we also appreciate a one-time donation, which would be used for the same purpose.
- Your contribution will help us provide equal chances of guidance for visually impaired.

The biggest problem faced by the visually impaired to be a functional part of the society, is not their unfortunate hindrance, but lack of adequate training and appropriate opportunities. With the right education and proper guidance, a person who is blind can do almost anything.
All they need is a helping hand and an encouraging spirit.
Lend a hand in helping a blind school. Support the right to education for everyone.

School is a temple of learning. But the average government educational institution in India is likely to be a dingy place without any access to electricity, toilets and other basic facilities.
True, this is a kind of common scenario in rural India, where 70% of the country’s population resides. Though our government has near resolved the issue of access to schools and enrolment through its initiative called Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, it is now time to face the challenge of improving facilities for education.
Here, we present a case of one of such schools located in the village Durgamcheru of Mominpet mandal, Rangareddy district.
How did we arrive at the School?
Durgamcheru is one of the deprived villages identified by the ‘Society for Eliminating Rural Poverty’(SERP).
SERP is a state level public organization established to carry out programmes on improvement of livelihoods of rural people in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states.
What do we notice?
The school constitutes I - V classes with a total of 70 students and 3 teachers. The students are keen to learn, the teachers are enthusiastic, and yet there’s something crucial that’s missing — the basic infrastructure
Five Classes of Students are confined to three classrooms. One Classroom - two groups of students and one single teacher is an everyday occurrence in the school
Students are made to sit on floor for the complete class hours. They remain deprived of basic facilities like drinking water, fans, lights, water supply to their toilets etc.
How will your donation be used?
Providing Benches: Sitting on mats and learn would be fine during normal days. But, during rainy days it is really difficult for the students to sit on the wet floor. The teachers in the school have opined that provision of benches would help in making classrooms comfortable for learning.
School Resources: Providing benches set as a major objective, we are also planning to provide certain useful items to the school such as Stationery, Books and Playing equipment.

Help us to make a difference. Your contribution could add a daily comfort to the student life of those children.
