Palani Kumar founded the People’s Photographers Collective, offering free training, mentorship, and equipment to marginalised youth across Tamil Nadu, Odisha, and beyond turning the photographed into photographers📷

His own work shifted from caste occupations like manual scavenging to the afterlives of caste atrocities and everyday Dalit life, embracing more collaborative documentation🎥
