GCF
→ Serum exudate that appears in the gingival sulcus and that contains molecular and cellular elements of the immune response.

Actually, GCF is both exudative and transudate; but transudate is negligible.

Warhaung & Brill and Krasse elucidated its role in the oral defence.

Alfano called it Inflammatory Exudate.

Brill proposed it to be Transudate.

Composition

Clinical Significance of GCF
GCF ⇒ increases from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. & decreases afterwards.

Amount of GCF increases in inflammation.
GCF not increased by TFO; but increased by mastication of coarse food.
Chewing & Vigorous gingival brushing stimulates the oozing of gingival fluid.
Smoking ⇒ Transient ↑GCF
Healing Period ⇒ ↑GCF
Tetracycline is the drug that attains maximum concentration in GCF.
Function of GCF
GCF cleans material from sulcus.
Contains plasma protein that improves adhesion of epithelium to the tooth.
It possesses the antimicrobial property.
It exerts antibody activity in defence of gingival.
IgG is more prevalent in GCF.

NEET MDS: Exam Dates, Application Form, Eligibility, Result

Important update: NEET MDS 2021 will be conducted on 16th December 2020 (Provisional Date), according to the latest notification released by the NBE.

The official information brochure for NEET MDS 2021 shall be released in the month of October. This brochure has all the necessary information about the NEET MDS examination. Online registrations for NEET started may start in October. Candidates will have to submit the application form of NEET MDS 2021 by October 31. Post this date, NBE will not accept any applications for NEET MDS. Admit cards for NEET MDS 2021 will be issued to candidates whose applications are complete and were submitted in time. NBE shall release the NEET MDS 2021 application form during October 2020. Eligible candidates will be able to fill the application form of NEET MDS 2021 on or before October 31, 2020. In order to fill the NEET MDS application form, candidates must follow the five-step process. Before starting to fill the registration form candidates must possess a valid email ID, mobile number, scanned copies of signature and photograph in ‘jpeg’ format.

NEET MDS 2021 eligibility criteria
The eligibility criteria for NEET MDS 2021, as per MDS Course Regulations 2017 notified by Dental Council of India with prior approval of MoHFW is as follows :

Candidate must not be younger than 20 years of age.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from a university/ institute recognised by the DCI.
He/she must be registered with the Dental Council of India (DCI) or State Dental Council (SDC) (permanent/ provisional).
Completion of one year compulsory rotatory internship by March 31 of the academic year that a candidate is seeking admission is mandatory.

NEET MDS exam pattern 2021

Mode of the Examination: According the exam pattern of NEET MDS 2021, the examination will be conducted in online or computer-based mode. Candidate needs basic knowledge of computers to appear for the test.

Medium of the Examination: The only language option available for the candidates who wish to appear for NEET MDS 2021 is English.

Duration of the Examination: NEET MDS 2021 will be held from 2 pm to 5 pm, which will give candidates 3 hours to attempt the examination.

Number and type of questions: Total number of questions in the NEET MDS 2021 examination will be 240. All these questions will be objective type, that is, for every question, a candidate will have four response options. He/she has to choose the correct answer from amongst these four options only.

NEET MDS 2021 Result
NEET MDS 2021 Result – National Board of Examination (NBE) will declare the NEET MDS Result 2021 in January 2021. The result is declared online at nbe.edu.in. NEET MDS Result is declared in the form of merit list which is of three (03) types i.e NEET MDS 2021 Rank, All India 50% Quota Rank, and All India 50% Quota Category Rank. All the candidates who will qualify the exam will then called for counselling process which will be conducted by DGHS. In order to pass the test, the candidates need to obtain minimum cut off percentile.

NEET MDS 2021 Cut Off
National Board of Examination sets minimum passing eligibility criteria i.e cut off for different categories. All the candidates who clears the cut off can take part in counselling process conducted by DGHS. Cut Off decides whether the candidate will be eligible to take part in counselling process or not. All the candidates who does not qualify the minimum eligibility criteria for the result will not be considered for further process. Minimum passing eligibility criteria for last year’s entrance exam result is as follows.
