It was established in 1932. The institution flourished later on under the able stewardship of Late Keshab Chandra Nag, legend in Mathematics. It was late KC Nag who requested Late KarunamayNag and Karunamay donated Rs. 6000/- (Rupees Six thousands) only towards the laying of foundation of the school.He did it to commemorate the name of his father Late Ramanikanta Nag. ildings were erected.It was 1932 when the school was ceremoniously established in the name of Late Ramanikanta Nag. Popularly,the school is known as Gurap R.K Institution. Gurap RK Institution got first recognition as a X-class school in 1934 from Calcutta University. The Managing Committee of the school was constituted in 1935 with Karunamay Nag as President of the committee and AbinashChandra Ghosh (resident of Gurap and then Headmaster of Bangabasi Collegiate School) as Secretary (1935 to 1942). Then KC Nag was a member of the committee. After the death of Karunamay Nag, Keshab babu was elected Secretary and Abinash babu President(1943 to 1962).Gurap RK Institution was recognized as XI-XII class. HS School wef.1976-77. This institution of repute has attained the age of 75 years .Ex-students and local luminaries are going to bestow honour upon their Alma Mater with active participation and cooperation of all the employees of the institution in the month of December,2008. All ex-students,staying abroad, are invited to the Jubilee Celebration of their Alma Mater.
