CULTURE ACTIVITIES:

These materials help the child to absorb the local culture, basic science concepts and the life around him

LANGUAGE MATERIALS:

The child at the age of two and a half has an enormous capacity to absorb up to 7 languages.

The Montessori materials help the child to absorb language in phonetic, logical and grammatical level through interactive group sessions

ARITHMETIC ACTIVITIES:

The abstract concepts of Arithmetic in material form is a speciality of the Montessori method.

These materials help the child to absorb all basic arithmetic concepts easily at his own pace.

SENSORIAL ACTIVITIES:

Sensorial activities help the child to understand the various physical properties of materials around us. They are designed in such way that they form a base for Arithmetic concepts.

The sensorial materials give scope to the child to use all his senses:
Visual,
Chromatic,
Tactile,
Auditory,
Olfactory,
Gustatory,
Baric,
Thermic and
Stereognostic senses.

In contrast a child in a traditional school environment has no scope to use his senses except the visual and auditory.

We know that every child is unique, active and responsive, immensely capable of absorbing knowledge from their environment....yet we limit our children to a classroom and expect them to learn

The Montessori method adapts and caters to each child, opens the child's mind to infinite possibilities , helps them to explore the environment around them more keenly and knowledgeably

The Montessori method helps the child in five main areas:

EXERCISES OF PRACTICAL LIFE:

These involve working with materials from every day life specially made to suit a child's size and needs. They help the child in

# Becoming independent;

# Looking after oneself;

# Focusing on the task at hand;
