A Special Gram Sabha was held today at the 27-Hee Gram Panchayat Unit on the occasion of World Environment Day. The meeting was conducted with the active participation of Panchayat representatives, officials, and local residents.
The meeting was chaired by the Panchayat President Shri Saysay Hang Limboo, along with the Vice President Mrs. Leela Maya Bista. The following Panchayat members were present: Shri Mohan Das Limboo, Smt. Nirmala Limboo, Smt. Bishnu Hangma Limboo, and Smt. Bishnu Maya Bista.
The meeting was attended by the general public of 27 Hee GPU, ASHA workers, SHG members, newly selected GPPFT team members, VWSC committee members, and other functionaries of 27 Hee GPU.
The main objective of the Gram Sabha was to create awareness on environmental protection and to encourage community participation in sustainable development activities. Detailed discussions were held on cleanliness, plantation, waste management, and environmental conservation in the village.
A plantation drive was also conducted today, where participants actively took part in planting saplings in and around the locality as part of the environmental initiative.
During the meeting, roles and responsibilities were formally handed over to the GPPFT (Gram Panchayat Public Facilitation Team) for effective implementation and monitoring of environment-related activities.
The meeting concluded successfully with a vote of thanks to all dignitaries, officials, and participants for their active presence and cooperation.

On the auspicious occasion of National Panchayati Raj Day, 24th April 2026, Hee GPU celebrated the day with dedication, highlighting the importance of grassroots democracy and local governance.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome to all dignitaries, staff members, and participants. Various activities were organized to mark the occasion, including speeches highlighting the significance of Panchayati Raj Institutions, cultural performances by local students, and felicitation of Panchayat members for their valuable contributions to community development.

The programme commenced with a ceremonial cake cutting, symbolizing the spirit of celebration. This was followed by the offering of khada to all elected representatives as a mark of respect and honour.

The event was graced by the presence of the Honourable Panchayat President, Vice President, Ward Panchayat Membees, AD (PRI),SHG members, School students and teacher,MGNREGA Mates along with other office functionaries and staff.

The celebration emphasized the importance of local self-governance and encouraged active participation from all stakeholders in strengthening the Panchayati Raj system.

The event also emphasized the role of local self-governance in empowering rural communities and strengthening democratic values at the grassroots level. Active participation from the community made the celebration meaningful and successful.

Late Post: On January 6, 2026, a Gram Sabha was conducted for 27 Hee Gram Panchayat Unit (GPU) Dentam Block,Gyalshing West Sikkim. This meeting was part of the ongoing state-wide initiative to formulate the Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) for the upcoming financial year 2026–27.

The Gram Sabha was chaired by the Hon’ble Panchayat President Shri SasayHang Limboo, as Chairman.All the honourable panchayat members, functionaries, B.O forest & Staff of Dentam,JE RDD, JE Power Department,Staff of Hee food department, Staff of Horticulture department hee bazar, staff of health & wellness centre heegoan,staffSHG federation, Social Activists and public of Hee GPU were also present.

The primary objective was the collaborative planning of the GPDP 2026–27, allowing community members to prioritize local development projects and welfare initiatives,focused on village beautification and essential infrastructure projects.

Discussions included water management, sanitation, and hygiene.
The meeting featured an open discussion session where villagers voiced concerns and sought clarifications directly from Panchayat representatives and officials from various line departments.
