One-Day State Level Workshop

Rahman Institute of Nursing and Paramedical Sciences (a unit of Rahman Hospitals Pvt. Ltd.) is pleased to organize a One-Day State Level Workshop on “Advancements in Health Informatics.”

An awareness programme on Breast Self-Examination (BSE) was conducted for the nursing students of Rahman Institute of Nursing and Paramedical Sciences by Dr. Gangamma K., MS, MCh (Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery)

The session was highly informative and interactive. Students were sensitised to the importance of performing BSE regularly every month for early detection of breast abnormalities. Emphasis was also laid on their vital role as future healthcare professionals in educating and spreading awareness about BSE among the community.

“A good laugh & a long sleep are the best cures” ~ Irish proverb

The 7th semester B.sc Nursing students of Rahman Institute of Nursing and Paramedical Sciences successfully organized a School health programme at Tepuram Teron High School , Guwahati , Assam on 21 February,2026 with the aim of spreading awareness on the topic : “ Sleep hygiene of students” .

An interactive session was conducted with the students to find out their sleep habits and pattern and we have highlighted their practices that causes disturbance to their sleep.

Followed by an interactive lecture highlighting the causes of poor sleep, importance of sleep hygiene and measures to improve sleep hygiene practices.

The students showed great interest and participate actively in the session. They have expressed their concern about their current sleep habits and are willing to make some positives changes to improve their sleep.

Report on Awareness Programme on PCOS

An Awareness Programme on Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) was successfully conducted on 20th February 2026 by the faculty and students of RINPS at Pragjyotish College, Guwahati, as part of their academic outreach activity.

The programme aimed to educate female students about the causes, symptoms, diagnosis, management, and prevention of PCOS. An interactive lecture was delivered highlighting the importance of early detection, healthy lifestyle practices, balanced diet, regular exercise, weight management, and stress control. The session also addressed long-term complications such as infertility, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases.

The students actively participated in the discussion and clarified their doubts through a question–answer session. The programme successfully enhanced awareness and encouraged adoption of healthier lifestyle habits.

Awareness today ensures better health tomorrow.

A Drug Abuse Prevention Awareness Programme was successfully organized on 11 February 2026 by the faculty, staff, and students of Rahman Institute of Nursing and Paramedical Sciences (RINPS) as part of their community posting at Baltingpara, Satgaon, Guwahati. The programme aimed to educate the local community about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of prevention.

During the session, participants were informed about the physical, psychological, and social consequences of substance abuse. The causes of drug addiction, early warning signs, and preventive measures were explained in simple and easy-to-understand language to ensure maximum awareness among the community members.

Special emphasis was placed on the importance of family support, positive peer influence, and healthy lifestyle choices in preventing drug misuse. The interactive session encouraged community participation, with residents asking questions and sharing their views and concerns.

The programme concluded with motivational messages and practical guidance to promote a drug-free and healthy society. The event received positive feedback from the participants, marking it as a meaningful and impactful community initiative.

Birth Centenary Celebration of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika at Rahman Institute of Nursing and Paramedical Sciences

The Birth Centenary of Sudhakantha Dr. Bhupen Hazarika was observed with reverence and enthusiasm at Rahman Institute of Nursing and Paramedical Sciences (RINPS) on 8th September 2025.
The programme began with a lamp-lighting ceremony and floral tributes offered by the faculty, students, and staff in honor of the legendary icon.

Principal Prof. Mayengbam Benita, in her address, highlighted the monumental contributions of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika in the fields of music, art, cinema, along with his remarkable achievements and accolades that brought glory to Assam and India.

Ms. Rashmi Sonowal, Tutor at RINPS, presented an inspiring account of the life and journey of Dr. Hazarika.

The celebration was further enriched by:
Melodious songs written by Dr. Hazarika, performed by students
Poetry recitations of his works, art displays and portraits created by students as a heartfelt tribute

Adding to the significance of the day, faculty, students, and staff also witnessed the live telecast of the Birth Anniversary Celebration held at Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Samadhi Kshetra, Jalukbari, Guwahati.
The event at RINPS was a fitting tribute to the legendary bard of the Brahmaputra, whose creations continue to inspire generations.
