We mourn the sad demise of Md Amiruddin Ali who passed away on 16 January, 2023 at GMC Hospital in Guwahati. A loyal employee of GIMT, Md. Ali is survived by his wife, son and two daughters. We are grieved by this sudden loss of our beloved Ali Da who had been serving as a bus driver since 2008.

An academia-industry interaction “INDUSTRY CONNECT” was organised by Girijananda Chowdhury University, in association with NIELIT- Guwahati on 9th January 2023.
Dr. Mani Madhukar, Program Manager, Global University Pragrams, IBM India Pvt. Ltd. and Adjunct Professor at Indira Gandhi Technical University for Women and Gurukul Kangri Vishwavidyalaya, Haridwar was the esteemed speaker for the event. A total of 152 students attended the session on continuous learning and interacted with Dr. Madhukar who shared courses IBM offers on Industry oriented themes like Cloud, AI, Blockchain, etc.
The students benefitted immensely from the interactive session.
The session ended with a vote of thanks from the chair.

A Seminar on “Cyber Stalking”
On 9th January 2023
A Cyber Safety Awareness Campaign, GIMT – Guwahati.
As per the direction of the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), GIMT – Guwahati has launched a series of events to raise awareness on the safe usage of Social Media and to familiarize the students on various Cyber Security issues. As part of this initiative, an event was organized on the 9th of January, 2023 by Mr. Adarsh Pradhan, Dept. of CSE and by Dr. Sandip Bordoloi, HoD Dept of EE &Dean (Student Affairs) who also delivered a seminar on the topic of “Cyber Stalking”. Dr. Bordoloi enlightened the audience on different aspects of the act of Cyber Stalking.
62 students from Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Management and Technology, Guwahati, and Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Pharmaceutical Science, Guwahati attended the event. A small interactive session followed thereafter where the students also expressed their views on Cyber Stalking and Cyber Security as a whole.

Cloth Donation Camp
Organized by Department of ECE in association with NSS Unit, GIMT-Guwahati
We have received a total of approx. 700 clothes (from faculties, staffs, students, alumni of GIMT-Guwahati)
Today, we have distributed the clothes to around 200 needy families in Amgaon village (near Panikhaiti, Chandrapur Road) and donated the remaining clothes to the Asha Bhawan Trust of India (Nabagraha Road, Silphukhuri).
