Love to share another feedback given by one of our very talented student Enisha Choudhury, daughter of Debajit Choudhury and Aparna Dutta Choudhury.
"I first started my formal training of Indian Classical music at the age of 8 and my very first introduction to it was through Sushmita ma'am. Classes started with the easy 'Alankaras' and as they increasingly became complex, ma'am always managed to make them seem easier. Almost everyone starts their journey through the 'Ragas' with 'Yaman', but ma'am made an exception as she taught & showed me the beauty of Ragas through 'Bhairav'. Ma'am always used to make sure that I understand what I'm singing, as in understanding the words properly. While teaching me every Raga through the 6 years till Visharad, she would always explain what the words in the Khayals actually meant. Many a times, this proper understanding of what I'm actually singing brought a whole new perspective in my singing and it always used to elevate the whole experience. Sir would accompany us in the class with his tabla and he patiently made sure that we understood how the Talas work in a khayal. Sometimes it got a little confusing, but both sir and ma'am relentlessly tried to take us through all the hurdles with so much patience. In their presence, my knowledge of music exponentially expanded as they let me grow with my singing and always encouraged to do better and better"
