Diwali, Deepavali, or Divali, also known as the Festival of Lights is a Hindu religious festival and one of the most important festivals within Hinduism. It generally lasts five days (or six in some regions of India), and is celebrated during the Hindu lunisolar months of Ashwayuja (according to the amanta tradition) and Kartika (between mid-October and mid-November).One of the most popular festivals of Hinduism, it symbolizes the spiritual "victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance".] The festival is widely associated with Lakshmi, goddess of prosperity and Ganesha, god of wisdom and the remover of obstacles, with many other regional traditions connecting the holiday to Sita and Rama, Vishnu, Krishna, Durga, Shiva, Kali, Hanuman, Kubera, Yama, Yami, Dhanvantari, or Vishvakarman. Furthermore, it is a celebration of the day Rama returned to his kingdom in Ayodhya with his wife Sita and his brother Lakshmana after defeating the demon Ravana in Lanka and serving 14 years of exile.

HAPPY VIJAYADASAMI, DASHAIN KO DHEREI DHEREI SUBHAKAMANA! ❤
Vijayadashami, also known as Dussehra, Dasara or Dashain, is a major Hindu festival celebrated annually at the end of Navaratri in India and Nepal. We observe the tenth day of the month of the Hindu calendar of Ashvin, the seventh month of the solar calendar Hindu moons, which typically falls in the Gregorian months of September and October.
*REASON*
Vijayadashami is observed and celebrated differently in the Nepalese and Indian parts of the Indian subcontinent for various reasons. In the southern, eastern, northeastern and some northern states of India, Vijayadashami marks the end of Durga Puja, in remembrance of the goddess Durga's victory over the buffalo demon Mahishasura to restore and protect the dharma. In the northern, central and western states, the festival is synonymous with Dussehra (also spelled Dasara, Dashahara). In these regions it marks the end of Ramlila and commemorates the victory of the god Rama over Ravana. Alternatively, it marks a reverence for one of the aspects of the Devi, such as Durga or Saraswati.
*CELEBRATION*
Vijayadashami celebrations include processions to a river or shore, carrying clay statues of Durga, Lakshmi, Saraswati, Ganesha and Kartikeya, accompanied by music and chanting, after which the images are immersed in dissolving water and goodbye. Elsewhere on Dasara, towering images of Ravana, symbolizing evil, are burned with fireworks to mark the destruction of evil. The festival also begins preparations for Diwali, the important festival of lights celebrated twenty days after Vijayadashami.
