Suman Sarmah Sir – The Uncrowned King of Teaching

Dear Suman Sir. It gives me so much joy and pride to see your Fan Club here in Facebook. Indeed, Fan Clubs are meant for popular celebrities like a Zubeen Garg or Shah Rukh Khan…but let me tell you, you are also no less than those celebrities. That’s because whateva be our profession / work in life , if we do it with full dedication and discipline, you are bound to become successful and people will then start to appreciate your work. Really Sir, your dedication towards your profession is truly unmatchable.
This is well highlighted in the fact that the burden that you take in teaching the dreaded Finance Papers , is beyond anyone’s capacity. It is only because of your charismatic ability to teach those dangerous subjects like Investments , Projects, Financial Engineering, which were made easy to clear by us in the very first attempt , and that also with good marks. Sir, I dare to say that you are an indispensable part of our college and its only because of your stunning and untiring efforts that students are confident enough to take up Finance and clear them with good grades.
Sir – You are the undisputed and the uncrowned King of Teaching.
Sir, those days I thought why you too much of classes and all..but know I realized those classes values...you really a very good teacher and also a good guide...for me you are one of the best teacher...Thank you so much sir for your valuable guidance and all...

It has been over ten years since we have passed out from GCMS, but we still miss u & remember your classes, as if it was yesterday. I still remember the hardship you took to give us the knowledge of Finance.
The way you called us for the classes..

You were the first one to do slide presentation, where there was no overhead Projector in the class..
To arrange the Projector & Laptop, before 9:30 am, even when the bearers don't arrive in the office.
Words feel short to express my gratitude towards you,
But let me reassure you that you are the Best Teacher, that I have got in my life time & I wish every student get a Teacher like you.

Indeed we were blessed.
Lastly, I may even go on to say that,
Our department & college should recognize you as the Best Teacher & even should award you with an official recognition.

GCMS is indeed lucky to get a Faculty like you.

Dear my favourite teacher of MBA,
Ur love, sincerity and passion towards finance inspired me to excel in ur subjects. U r born to teach sir. U have so much enthusiasm for finance. U r magic. The world needs more like you. U made finance easy. U explained in such a way that there was no doubt left to ask. U knew beforehand what point would puzzle the students and cleared the concept with perfection. I was a bit nervous before opting for finance as my specialization, but as i was doing the classes, it had become my favourite subject. Not because the subject was more interesting, but more because YOU were the teacher. Normally finance or accounting teachers are strict and boring. But you were so sweet! I scored high marks in ur subjects . I was the topper in the batch only because of you sir. You discussed past question papers of 10 years, you created a whatsapp group to clear our doubts even after the classes got over, you repeated the point many times if a student didn't understand. I never hesitated to ask you doubts. I felt confident about myself when i attended ur classes. I felt intelligent. I felt utterly satisfied. U r a gem of a person. I am so lucky to have had a professor like you in my academic life. I am missing you a lot while writing this...

SUMAN SARMAH – The Genius Teacher of Gauhati Commerce College.
Suman Sir – I don’t know what to write about you. Dictionary words are not sufficient to appreciate your talent, dedication and spirit. I still remember, when I was in the First Semester, only a few students had cleared the first semester. When we passed out of Fourth Sem , we saw that , you had converted our dreams into a reality. In between the first and the fourth sem, You helped us like a real mentor , guided us like a Dronacharya. There is no one like you, when it comes to teaching methodologies and getting the concepts cleared. Lessons seems easy and time seems to fly when you enter the class. There was never a dull moment in your lectures. I feel proud to say that, I have learnt my MBA , Finance lessons from Suman Sir, whose level of dedication is simply incomparable.
Sir, I don’t have much to write, but what I can say is that, teachers like you can make a significant positive difference in a student’s life.

Sir, indeed what a moment of pride to see your Fan Club at Facebook. Really , I cannot agree more to the fact that you are the Best Teacher Ever. I have spent Five years of my academic life at GCC , right from my BBA to MBA, but Sir let me assure you, no other faculty member is even close to you in terms of Dedication , Motivation and Equality. Truly, after doing MBA, we have known the fact that a teacher can teach as a friend as well.
Your unparalleled dedication and unbiased treatment to each and every student in the class is absolutely awesome. You are the one, who initiated new teaching methods in our curriculum. You are the one who instilled the confidence in us to face the dreaded GU Exams with utmost confidence. Sir, you are doing the greatest service to the state and nation by educating the young minds to become future Human Resource of the Country. Your dedication towards developing a student is appreciated.

Neatly dressed, tidy hair, clean shaven and a radiant face. The very sight of him makes one feel like learning one more lesson from his subject. Discipline and punctuality are two of his notable characteristics. Given a bunch of devoted students he has the fire to stretch a morning class to late evening and nobody in the classroom would object. Many of his students call him 'the epitome of a good teacher.' They felt fortunate to be under his guidance. His willingness to shoulder the academic responsibilities is such that even students from other branch would not miss a chance to greet him profusely. He is none other than Sir Suman Sarmah. I pray for him and hope the future passage of time will never wither his sheen.

Dear Suman Sir - The Best Teacher known to me.
Sir, what a delight to see your Fan Cub.. I am extremely sorry to post this late message on the beautiful occasion on Teachers Day. Sir, as i read these innumerable messages given to you at this Fan Club, i really feel that each and every message, each and every posts, each and every appreciation is a true reflection of your unprecendented dedication twards your profession. It is really a pleasant suprise that how you are able to grab the attention of the numerous batches you have taught till date. 10 batches, 500 students, (maybe 400 in touch), 300 likes , 300 follows , 300 jaw dropping messages..awesome numbers.

I JUST WANT TO SAY THAT WE HAD COME TO THE COLLEGE IN THE 3RD AND 4TH SEMS ONLY TO ATTEND YOUR CLASS. WE HAD THE BLIND CONFIDENCE IN YOU, THAT WHATEVER YOU TAUGHT IN OUR CLASS WAS SUFFICIENT FOR THE GU EXAMS.. BUT THAT WAS ONLY IN YOUR SUBJECT AND NOT THE OTHERS.

One such incident that comes to my mind, which happened in the 4th Semester was that .. its was like a Hot Summer Day in the month of April... Our Form Fill Up was done, and as such we need not had to worry about our attndence and so we simply came to attend your classes only. That day, your class was in the afternoon.. we did not had any electricity and after your class there a class of a visiting faculty of International Marketing maybe. Had there been other faculties, we would not have thought a second to bunk those classes...but no its was Suman Sirs class post lunch..we had to attend.. come what may..

After your class we didnot even waited a second to leave the classroom.. as we had no interest for the next class,,we all left the classroom empty.. However, as the class was of a visiting faculty, some saikia sir, i think.. we were called back by the director (MR Sarma Sir) to just sit in the next class.. in the end only 10 students , were called back to sit for that Visiting Faculty Class..
and that is the difference between your class and other classes..
WE CAME TO YOUR CLASS TO ATTEND whereas we only sat in our benches for evry other class.

Anything that had mathematics, would give me nightmares, but because of you, your efforts in explaining all the concepts so crystal clearly, gave me so much positivity for the subject.
