Founded in 2014, by Harvard University alumni, I Am A Teacher (IAAT) is a not-for-profit organization with the purpose to build a relevant and rigorous practice-based model for teacher education in the country. The title ‘I Am A Teacher’ was consciously chosen and coined to build a sense of pride within teachers about the profession and about their identity as teachers. IAAT’s mission is to prepar

e caring and confident teachers committed to becoming reflective practitioners and lifelong learners, proficient in the content and practice of the Discipline. Courses Offered –

IAAT’s flagship program is the Post Graduate Diploma in Learning & Teaching, a year-long, practice-based, face-to-face, pre-service teacher preparation & education program. Facilitated by world-renowned faculty and bench-marked against the best residency-based programs the course attracts an eclectic mix of participants every year. Over a 10-month period, homemakers, lawyers, teachers, chartered accountants, and management professionals spend time in a classroom, being coached & mentored by an experienced educator. Simultaneously, they attend theory classes and are guided by a teacher-educator who helps them make tangible connections between theory & practice. In addition, IAAT also conducts certificate programs in instructional leadership & design for the professional development of in-service teachers. We also conduct shorter-duration topic, grade, pedagogy, and subject-specific courses such as classroom management, the teaching of language, early & primary years education, and many more.
