Genie says: Did U know that the edible oil U use in daily cooking is imported from countries like Brazil, Argentina, Malaysia, Indonesia?
The domestic supply of oil seeds in India is more than 5 million tonnes whereas the demand is more than 10 million tonnes.

Genie says: You should have two or more different kinds of oils in your kitchen that you can use for different purposes. For example, you can use olive oil for salads, palmolein oil for frying and soyabean oil for other cooking purposes. This will let you take advantage of the health benefits offered by each oil.

Genie says: India is a net edible oil importer, Palm and soya oils constitute more than 95% of total edible oil imports, buys mainly palm oil from Indonesia and Malaysia and soyabean oil from Brazil and Argentina.

In order to derive maximum benefits from oil, Genie says: it is beneficial to consume a mix of oils in order to maintain a balance between MUFA, PUFA & SFA.
