Presidium Model United Nations

As the final moments of PMUN 2024 unfolded, everyone witnessed the power of collective action, youth leadership, and global collaboration. The Presidium for Change theme resonated throughout every debate, discussion, and resolution, reminding all that real change begins with bold ideas and fearless voices. The highlight of the ceremony being the prize distribution by Chairperson, Mrs. Sudha Gupta, and Guest of Honour, Mr. Bhavani Shankar Tripathi was a moment of celebration and reflection. Over the past two days, delegates from across the schools had engaged in spirited debates, innovative problem-solving, and impactful collaborations. The ceremony was more than just an end; it was the start of a new journey towards a better future.

Our honourable Principal, Ms. Sudhanshu Dadu ma’am, felicitated the Executive Board and teacher Committee Heads by giving them trophies and certificates recognising the time and effort they put in for the growth of these delegates. Their support throughout the conference was truly valuable. It is because of these individuals that students develop into the leaders of tomorrow, excelling in whatever field they choose to pursue.

At PMUN 2024, the social events were a perfect complement to the intense debates and discussions, offering delegates a chance to unwind, network, and build friendships in a more informal setting, fostering deeper connections beyond committee sessions. The energy during the socials was palpable, as students from different backgrounds came together in an atmosphere of camaraderie and mutual respect. It added a sense of community to the conference, making it not just a platform for academic discourse but a memorable experience that blended learning with fun.

Prayaas committee that has never been done before, even in the previous editions of PMUN. A platform where young minds converged to foster dialogue, diplomacy and change. As we advocate fr global solutions, Prayaas continues its mission of empowering youth and driving social impact. Together, we strive for a better, more equitable world. PMUN 2024 rendered a perfect platform for the voices of children from underprivileged zones giving them a chance to change the world for a better future.

IPC- International Press Corps

The International Press at Presidium Model United Nations’24 serves as a vital component of the conference, providing coverage, analysis, and commentary on the proceedings. Comprised of student journalists, the press simulates real-world media operations, reporting on committee discussions, drafting resolutions, and interviewing delegates. Delegates honed their writing and communication skills while exploring global issues. They created newsletters, articles, and broadcasts, ensuring that the voices of delegates are heard beyond the conference walls. This experience fosters a deeper understanding of international relations and the importance of a free press in democratic societies.

UNEP - United Nations Environment Programme

Agenda - Addressing Plastic Pollution in Aquatic Food Chain

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) serves as a leading global advocate for the environment, promoting sustainable development through sound environmental practices. In this committee, delegates will address pressing environmental challenges and work towards solutions that benefit both the planet and its inhabitants. The agenda for this committee was Addressing Plastic Pollution in the Aquatic Food Chain. Through collaborative dialogue and strategic planning, participants aimed to create impactful initiatives that protect natural resources, enhance resilience, and promote a sustainable future for all. The work of UNEP is crucial in ensuring a healthier planet for generations to come.

UNHRC - United Nations Human Rights Council

Agenda - Protection of Human Rights Defenders in Conflict Zone.

The United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) is dedicated to promoting and protecting human rights globally. In this committee, delegates will examine critical issues related to human dignity, social justice, and fundamental freedoms, fostering dialogue and cooperation among nations. The agenda for PMUN’24 for this conference is Protection of Human Rights Defenders in Conflict Zones. Through collaborative efforts and informed debate, participants will strive to uphold the principles of human rights, aiming to create a more just and equitable world for all individuals, regardless of their background. The UNHRC's work is essential in championing the rights of those in need and ensuring that their voices are heard on the global stage.

UNDP - United Nations Development Programme

Agenda - Deliberating on fund allocation towards the Global South with special emphasis on the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals.

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) plays a pivotal role in advancing sustainable development and reducing inequalities worldwide. In this committee, delegates will work collaboratively to address pressing global challenges and develop strategies that promote economic growth, environmental sustainability, and social inclusion. In PMUN’24, the agenda was Deliberate on fund allocation towards the global south with special emphasis on implementing sustainable development goals. Through teamwork and innovative thinking, participants aimed to create impactful solutions that empower nations and contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), ensuring a more equitable future for all.

UNICEF - United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund

Agenda - Protection of Children in Armed Conflicts

The United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) is dedicated to advocating for the rights and well-being of children around the globe. In this committee, delegates will explore key issues affecting children, focusing on policies and programs that promote their health, education, and protection.

The agenda for PMUN’24 for this committee was Deliberating on Protection of Children in Armed Conflicts. Through dedicated dialogue and negotiation, participants strived to create a comprehensive framework that addresses the pressing needs of children, ensuring their rights are upheld and their futures are secured. UNICEF’s mission is crucial in fostering a world where every child can thrive.

CCC – Continuous Crisis Committee

Agenda- Outset of World-War II (Iran-Israel Tensions)

The Continuous Crisis Committee (CCC) is designed to address ongoing global emergencies that require immediate attention and innovative solutions. In this dynamic environment, delegates must think on their feet, respond to evolving situations, and collaborate effectively to devise strategies that can mitigate crises. The agenda of this complex committee for this PMUN 2024 was Outset of World War III (Iran - Israel Tensions). Participants displayed their ability to adapt to complex situations to come up with easy solutions, showcased their analytical skills and worked to create long term solutions.

UNSC - United Nations Security Council

Agenda - Discussing the Impact of Proxy Wars in the Middle East and developing a Comprehensive Security Framework.

The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) is a key body responsible for maintaining international peace and security. In this committee, delegates represent their countries as they tackle pressing global issues, engage in strategic discussions, and draft resolutions aimed at conflict resolution and peacekeeping. The agenda for this committee is Discussing the Impact of Proxy Wars in the Middle East and developing a Comprehensive Security Framework. The delegates engaged in dynamic discussions, negotiated potential solutions and understood the issue to its very core. The aim is to work collaboratively to come up with a solution that works perfectly for all countries in the world.
