1. Oxygen In: You inhale → O₂ fills alveoli → Diffuses through thin walls into capillaries → Binds to hemoglobin in RBCs → Goes to body
2. Carbon Dioxide Out: CO₂ from body comes via blood → Diffuses from capillaries into alveoli → You exhale it out

Why it works so well:
-Alveoli: Millions of tiny air sacs in lungs, like clusters of grapes
- Capillaries: Tiny blood vessels wrapped around each alveolus
- Huge surface area: ∼70 m², about size of a tennis court
- Process: Simple diffusion — gases move from high to low
