Today, Sardar Hariqbal Singh Ji, OSD to the Vice Chancellor, visited the Guru Nanak Dev University Regional Campus, Gurdaspur. On this occasion, he was warmly welcomed by the Associate Dean, Dr. Rishi Raj Sharma, along with the heads of various departments. During their meeting, they discussed several campus-related issues, which the OSD assured would be resolved promptly. He emphasized that the University is deeply committed to the ongoing development and success of its regional campuses.

Following the discussions, the OSD participated in a plantation drive on the campus grounds to support the University’s green initiative. He highlighted that environmental conservation is the need of the hour and encouraged students to take an active role in keeping their surroundings clean and green.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Rishi Raj Sharma stressed that continuous efforts are essential to maintaining a healthy environment. He noted that because global warming has reached an alarming stage, it is the duty of every responsible citizen to contribute as much as possible. He also mentioned that the campus conducts plantation drives at regular intervals to ensure the grounds always remain lush and green.

Other prominent faculty members present on the occasion included Dr. Anu Sheetal, Dr. Shamsher Singh, and Dr. Arvinder Singh.

Under the wise guidance of Associate Dean Prof. (Dr.) Rishiraj Sharma, an event titled Jashn-e-Vaisakhi was successfully concluded at Guru Nanak Dev University Regional Campus, Gurdaspur. The event was organized by the Psychological and Cultural Mentor Cell.

The celebration was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest, Dr. Varinder Mohan (SMO, Civil Hospital Dinanagar). It featured a variety of cultural performances and activities, along with an open DJ session, making it a vibrant and enjoyable occasion. The event beautifully reflected the festive spirit and cultural richness of Vaisakhi.

The In-charge of the Psychological and Cultural Mentor Cell, Dr. Taqdeer, initiated this event and was the main driving force behind its successful ex*****on. Participants enthusiastically took part in various activities and showcased their talents, creating a lively and festive atmosphere.

After that, a prize distribution ceremony was also held, in which prizes were awarded to the winners of the cultural activities. On this occasion, former Associate Dean Dr. Amardeep Kaur Saini, Dr. Anusheetal (Head, Engineering and Computer Science Department), Dr. Arvindar Singh (Head, Management and Commerce Department), Dr. Shashi B Rana, Dr. Shamsher Singh, Dr. HS Chahal, Dr. Satbir Singh, Dr. Sharanjit Singh, Dr. Sapna, Dr. Mini Ahuja, Dr. Harjot Kaur, Dr. Amit Pal Singh and other staff members were present.

Guru Nanak Dev University Regional Campus Gurdaspur successfully conducted "Employbility Skill Training Program"by Mahindra Pride Classroom, Naandi Foundation in two batches (Batch 1: 13.3.2026 - 13.3.2026 and Batch 2: 21.3.2026 - 30.3.2026) in which 110 girl students participated. The purpose of the program was to develop Soft Skills such as communication skills, teamwork, leadership, time management, and problem-solving abilities for professional success. Also, the students were trained for group discussions, and interview techniques so they can confidently face recruitment processes. It also focussed to instill discipline, work ethics, adaptability, and a positive attitude needed in a corporate or professional environment and to enhance Technical & Digital Competence and workplace tools knowledge relevant to their field, which can improve their employability opportunities.

“Udaan” Sports Event Concludes Successfully with Great Enthusiasm of Students

Today, at Guru Nanak Dev University Regional Campus, Gurdaspur, the closing ceremony of the sports event “Udaan” was organized by the students of the Department of Business Management and Commerce under the able guidance of Honorable Associate Dean, Prof. (Dr.) Rishiraj Sharma.

The event commenced on March 23, 2026, and was successfully concluded today on March 30, 2026.

Students from various departments participated in the event with great enthusiasm. They showcased their talents impressively in sports such as cricket, kho-kho, volleyball, and football.

During the prize distribution ceremony held today on campus, Dr. Rishiraj Sharma, while addressing the gathering, expressed his happiness at witnessing such an energetic atmosphere. He emphasized that organizing such events is very important to keep students away from drugs and other social evils, and assured that such initiatives will continue in the future.

He further stated that Guru Nanak Dev University will always remain committed to the welfare and overall development of students.

On this occasion, the Head of the Department of Business Management and Commerce, Dr. Arvinder Singh, also addressed the audience and appreciated the efforts of the students, calling their initiative highly commendable.

The successful organization of this event was made possible by the dedicated efforts of coordinators Dr. Jaimanpreet Kaur and Anmoldeep Singh, who fulfilled their responsibilities efficiently.
