A moment of immense pride for Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence!

We are delighted to share that Dr. Shreedevi Devindrappa Kalyan, Senior Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematical and Computational Sciences, has been honoured with the Viksit Bharat Shikshak Award 2026.

The award was presented in New Delhi on 3 September 2026, recognising her contributions to education, teaching, research, innovation, student development and nation-building.

What makes this recognition particularly significant is that Dr. Shreedevi was selected in the University category among ten educators from across India, following a process that received nearly 200 nominations.

For our university, this is not merely an individual achievement. It is a celebration of the spirit of excellence, enquiry, service and responsibility that we strive to nurture in every educator and every learner.

We congratulate Dr. Shreedevi Devindrappa Kalyan on this well-deserved national recognition and wish her continued success in inspiring minds and advancing the cause of meaningful, value-based education.

Advancing Knowledge. Strengthening Research. Enriching Teaching.

Mr. Vinay R. Hooli, Faculty Member, Department of Life Sciences, Sri Sathya Sai University of Human Excellence, recently participated in a two-day hands-on training programme on CRISPR-Cas9 Gene Editing Technology in Bengaluru.

The programme, organised by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, in association with Protein Design Pvt ltd, provided practical exposure to genome editing and contemporary developments in molecular biology and biotechnology.

CRISPR-Cas9 has emerged as one of the most powerful tools in modern biotechnology, enabling precise modification of genetic material and opening new possibilities in biomedical research, agriculture, disease studies, genetic engineering, and several other areas of life sciences.

Such academic engagements enable faculty members to continually update their knowledge, gain practical exposure to emerging technologies and strengthen their research orientation.

At SSSUHE, we believe that continuous learning is integral to academic excellence — empowering our faculty to bring contemporary knowledge and research perspectives into the learning environment.

We congratulate Mr. Vinay R. Hooli on this valuable professional learning experience and wish him continued success in his academic and research endeavours.

🌿 TEACHERS’ DAY | REMEMBERING A VISIONARY EDUCATOR 🌿

“A doctor heals a body, an engineer builds a structure, but only a teacher can shape the soul and destiny of a nation.”

At a time when conventional success meant pursuing medicine or engineering, a young visionary consciously chose the classroom.

For Sri Madiyala Narayana Bhat, reverently called ‘Anna’, teaching was not an alternative—it was a sacred calling.

In a life spanning less than five decades, Anna accomplished what takes generations to conceive. His vision gave birth to two remarkable movements whose impact continues to inspire lives across generations.

📚 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲𝘀-𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗚𝘂𝗿𝘂𝗸𝘂𝗹𝗮 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

Deeply inspired by Mahatma Gandhi’s patriotism and Swami Vivekananda’s spiritual call, Anna founded Loka Seva Vrinda in 1960. He envisioned education that went beyond textbooks and examinations—education that would build character, instil discipline, awaken patriotism and nurture a spirit of service.

The pioneering residential schools at Alike and Muddenahalli became living embodiments of this vision, where academic excellence walked hand in hand with timeless human values.

🙏 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝘆𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗷𝗲𝗲𝘃𝗶𝘀

Anna understood that extraordinary institutions could not be built through ordinary commitment.

He inspired a fraternity of selfless young men—the Tyagajeevis—who renounced worldly pursuits to dedicate their lives to rural youth. They lived simply, taught wholeheartedly and mentored children not merely through words, but by becoming living embodiments of dharma, sacrifice and service.

What began through Loka Seva Vrinda as humble rural schools founded on faith, simplicity and sacrifice has today blossomed into a vast mission of free, values-based education and human excellence under the divine canopy of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.

And perhaps, that is the greatest lesson Anna left behind:

A teacher’s influence is never confined to the four walls of a classroom.

When knowledge becomes service,
when teaching becomes sacrifice,
and when education becomes an offering to society,
the classroom can touch the world.

As we celebrate Teachers’ Day during Anna’s Birth Centenary year, we bow in gratitude to a teacher whose life itself became a lesson—a lesson in vision, sacrifice, service and love for humanity.
