Sometimes therapy looks like this… 🤍 But please don’t panic.

During oral motor and feeding therapy, some children may cry because the mouth is one of the most sensitive parts of the body. Many children with oral sensory difficulties, jaw tightness, tongue restrictions, or chewing and feeding challenges are uncomfortable with touch inside or around the mouth.

Crying doesn’t always mean the therapy is painful or harmful. Often, it is a response to unfamiliar sensations, sensory sensitivity, anxiety, or difficulty accepting oral input.

Every technique is introduced gradually, safely, and according to the child’s tolerance. We constantly observe the child’s comfort and never force therapy beyond what is clinically appropriate.

These small, challenging moments help build the foundation for better chewing, feeding, oral awareness, speech, and communication.

Sometimes progress begins with tearsbut it should always be guided by care, patience, and professional support. ❤️
