Today’s walk was going good as the weather was so soothing after weeks of humidity…until I heard few moms talking and laughing aloud. I was curious so I joined them saying hello. After a while, when the discussion resumed, I had to politely leave the group as the discussion really disturbed me.

The moms were suggesting each other as to how to instigate kids to sleep in afternoon for extended hours just to gain time for their own rest or free time. It sounds good!! Isn’t, who doesn’t want rest or time for self. I too was okay as I appreciate and salute moms for doing all the great efforts to engage their kids particularly during this challenging time. And then and there, I overheard another lady who sounded quite upset as her 8 years’ old son could not sleep night after night and kept himself busy by watching TV, YouTube videos and playing online games whole night while parents were fast asleep.

I could at once correlate. Since the kids are somehow sleeping for extended hours in the afternoon they are unable to get sleep at night and parents just let them do anything unintentionally while they are asleep. Now you see, this is really troublesome for kids. They cannot handle it, their young self is not accustomed to stay awake whole night. They are already doing much to adjust to the new system of studying online away from school and playground.

My humble request to you all… rest for an hour or two in the afternoon is sufficient for the kids. Just to stay away from their hulla -gulla do not push them to do something which is not good for them. Night’s sleep is must to get up fresh in the morning so that they can start their routine cheerfully.

Please give it a thought…if you are also doing this.

I love these words. It is not wrong to realize and admit lack in talent. in fact, the sooner you realize better will be the chances to hone up...provided you have the desire as well as 100+ dedication.

My nephew is a super active kid and he keeps on asking "BUA BATAO KYA KARU" and his questions forced me to think ideas to evoke talent in him so that he can appropriately chanalize his proactive energies to equip himself with something more than others. I observed that he was introvert and had stage fright. So I started talking to him and giving him enough ideas to think and speak about. And surprisingly this boy has become so smart that he is now always on toes to discuss anything with anyone, creating his videos and making tutorials to help me in my online classes. This is really amazing...isn't it!!

So, eliminate your doubts and understand your kids. Don't ignore what he asks for...consider what he questions. Support him to do better.

No skill or talent is easy to hone up… consistent efforts and determination do it all.

Beginning may be time consuming but eventually you learn to learn. Don’t doubt your abilities and intelligence. Be courageous to give it a kick start.

After 4-6 sessions you find that your kids willingly ask for more. Support them with patience. No one can inspire you more than you can do to yourself. I am glad that some moms are super smart as they are continuously attentive while kids are with me online and they too are learning, to help kids post sessions. I appreciate their idea, this is really going to speed up your kids’ learning.

This is enough now. We human beings are scared. Our kids and elders are almost locked for 15 months now. They are living in fear…despite everything around they are not able to take a free walk in the park, can’t peep out freely for a while, no socialising, kids are missing school and playground. They can’t stick to chair this long for online school classes. They need freedom….please have mercy on all of us.
