MBABANE - Global Arcus has offered scholarship to 250 Emaswati students to study in India.

This was shared by Nontokozo Sibiya, who represents Global Arcus in Eswatini. This was during an event held at The George Hotel in Manzini, where a part of some students offered the scholarship were present.

Global Arcus has started helping students from the country to study in India since 2022 and it aims to offer scholarship to 500 students this year. Sibiya mentioned that most Emaswati children were unaware of the scholarship program, so it was their duty to inform them about it.

“The cost of living in India is not expensive, so it is feasible to live and study there,” she said. She also urged students to commit themselves to their studies. She said, “It is our hope that Emaswati children learn as they will contribute to the development of their communities,” Sibiya said.

According to Bhavesh Bhaskar, Director of Global Arcus, the scholarship program for African students offers 50 percent scholarship on tuition fees and 100 percent on accommodation and food. The different courses studied in India include Engineering, Pharmacy, Nursing, Paramedics, Accounting, Management, Law and many more. And the duration for Bachelor' s degree is three or four years depending on the course, and two years for Masters.

Nkosingiphile Kunene, a student who is currently studying, in India shared some advice for students who will be joining her in the country. “I would advise students to study Computer Science because it is broad, it includes has Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cyber Security. And since India is a culturally diverse country, it is easy to adapt when you arrive there,” she said.
