Ponnonam – Celebrating Togetherness, Spreading Happiness
HEMA Higher Secondary School celebrated Ponnonam – Celebrating Togetherness, Spreading Happiness on 25 August 2026 with great enthusiasm and festive spirit.
The celebration beautifully showcased the rich traditions and cultural heritage of Kerala through a vibrant Thalapoli, prayer, Deepam ceremony, Onam song, Thiruvathira, Vamana presentation, Nadan dance and a heartfelt student speech on the essence of Onam. The programme concluded with “Ponnonam – A Symphony of Joy” and the National Anthem.
A special appreciation to all our Ponnonam performers, who, despite being non-Malayalis, embraced the rich culture and traditions of Kerala with such enthusiasm, dedication and grace.
The event was graced by Vice President Shri Sajit Nair, Secretary Shri Kishore Pillai and Joint Secretary Shri Ajit Kumar, whose presence added warmth and significance to the celebration.
A special note of gratitude goes to GC Member Shri S. Sanjeev, who graciously portrayed Mahabali, bringing the spirit and grandeur of Onam alive for our students.
A special and heartfelt thanks to our Chenda Team for adding the authentic rhythm, energy and traditional spirit of Kerala to our Ponnonam celebration.
The celebration was a wonderful blend of tradition, togetherness, joy and cultural pride, leaving everyone with cherished memories and the beautiful message of Onam—unity, harmony and happiness for all.

🇮🇳 *Independence Day Celebration at HEMA*

HEMA Higher Secondary School celebrated 80th Independence Day with immense pride and patriotic fervour. The Freedom Run 2026(Marathon race),witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, parents and teachers.The members of the management graced the occasion with their esteemed presence. The soulful rendition of *Vande Mataram* preceded the ceremonial unfurling of the National Flag, which was followed by the National Anthem and vibrant cultural performances celebrating our nation’s unity and heritage.

To celebrate the 80th Independence Day of India, BHEL Shiksha Mandal organized an Inter-School Patriotic Group Song Competition, hosted by Carmel Convent Senior Secondary School. Six schools participated in the competition, showcasing their patriotic spirit and musical excellence.

Investiture Ceremony 2026 | 24th July, 2026 ✨

On 24th July, 2026, HEMA Hr. Sec. School proudly celebrated its Investiture Ceremony, marking the induction of the newly elected Student Council. The event was graced by Group Captain Rajesh M. Nair, Station Commander, 513 SU, Indian Air Force. Commissioned into the Flying Branch in 1997, he is an accomplished fighter pilot with nearly 29 years of distinguished service, having flown the Sukhoi-30 MKI and held several prestigious appointments in the Indian Air Force.

In the esteemed presence of the Management, Principal, Vice Principal, staff members, parents, and students, the ceremony inspired young leaders to uphold the values of integrity, discipline, responsibility, and service.
