This remarkable school, founded in 2003 by Uttam Teron (recipient of the CNN IBN Real Heroes Award), offers free, holistic education and accommodation to children from socio-economically disadvantaged communities in Assam.

During my visit, I also had the privilege of exploring their handloom unit within the campus and was deeply touched to be gifted a beautiful Mekhela Sador.

11.06.2022: With over 50 teachers of Pre-Nursery to Class 8 participating in the Teacher's Workshop at FHSS, the entire teaching fraternity of Faculty Higher Secondary School have now been sensitised on their Emotional Intelligence levels and how to handle the post-pandemic student and new classroom challenges. A heartfelt thanks goes out to the school authorities on their foresight in preparing their teachers for challenging times ahead as we come back to normality after the pandemic.
