The Department of Applied Biology, USTM is delighted to share that Ms. Jula Sarma, Assistant Professor and Dr. Madhusmita Borthakur, Assistant Professor, have successfully published their research article titled "Plant-based Functional and Active Agents in Sustainable Food Packaging: A Comprehensive Review" in the prestigious Journal of Food Science and Technology published by Springer Nature (Impact Factor: 3.3).

Department of Applied Biology, USTM is glad to share that Dr. Yugal Kishore Mohanta, Assistant Professor and Senior Collaborator of the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) Study at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME), Washington University, USA, has contributed to a prestigious international research publication in The Lancet Infectious Diseases (Impact factor 31.0) one of the world's leading medical journals.

The Department of Applied Biology, USTM takes immense pride in sharing that Ms. Indrani Laskar, Laboratory Officer of the department, has contributed as a member of a multidisciplinary research team whose research article, “Green Synthesis, Radical Scavenging and Antimicrobial Activity of Zinc Oxide Nanoparticles Synthesised from the Leaf of Rhynchotechum ellipticum (Wall. ex D. Dietr.) A. DC”, has been published in the Scopus-indexed journal Journal of Plant Science Today.
The research was carried out in collaboration with Dr. A. H. Barbhuiya, Academic Registrar, USTM, Dr. Arabinda Chandra Nath, Professor, Department of Chemistry, and Dr. Shruti Sharma, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry.
This achievement reflects the growing culture of interdisciplinary research and scientific excellence at USTM. The Department of Applied Biology congratulates Ms. Indrani Laskar and the entire research team on this significant accomplishment and wishes them continued success in their future scientific endeavors.
