The Economics honours is also offered to the students passing out with pure Science background ( Physics-Chemistry-Maths ) . In fact , l myself come from this background . After passing out the 12th standard with Science , l decided to take up Economics Honours in Graduation . What is more , the students with this background find Economics quite interesting n can easily grasp the nuances of the Honours course . Above all , Economics--Statistics--Mathematics is now regarded as the royal B Sc combination . The days of PCM is gone . The students with this combination are nowadays the toast of the job market --- RBI , Banking , IES , CDS , NABARD etc . They can also come up trumps in MAT n CAT . Thus our Eco-Stat-Mat passouts are resplendent in glory wherever they have gone --- MBA , MCA in Tezpur University n other institutions. RBI always enroll students with this combination as Grade A officers , not to say about their success in SSC .
Therefore , enterprising students having honest aim to pursue their academics ( Graduation) can seriously ponder over the options provided by this combination . In my alma mater Cotton College , this is the most sought after combination . But for some reason , it has not yet caught the imagination of the students here .
