Sunrise Convent International School Celebrates Independence Day with Zeal and Enthusiasm
Mananhana, 15 August 2026:
Sunrise Convent International School celebrated the 80th Independence Day with great patriotic fervour, enthusiasm and pride. The celebration brought together students from Pre-Nursery to Class XII, providing them with a vibrant platform to explore, express and showcase their talents under the theme “Solo Skill Hunt – Celebrating Talent, Patriotism and Creativity.”
The programme commenced with the reception of the esteemed dignitaries, followed by the National Song “Vande Mataram” and the ceremonial flag hoisting. The gathering then joined in the National Anthem, paying tribute to the nation and remembering the sacrifices of the freedom fighters who made India's independence possible.
The celebration beautifully combined patriotism with skill exploration. Students presented a wide range of performances, including patriotic songs, dances, poems, speeches, declamations and historical acts. Performances portraying inspiring chapters from India's freedom struggle and historical personalities left the audience deeply moved. The young performers displayed remarkable confidence, creativity, enthusiasm and stage presence.
The occasion was graced by Chairperson Sardar Surinder Singh Ji Bhulewal Ratha,Director Shri Anil Aggarwal Ji whose presence added great significance to the celebration. The Director shared inspiring thoughts with the students and encouraged them to become responsible, capable and committed citizens of the nation.
The event was further enriched by the presence of Academic Coordinator Madam Amongla Chang, and Madam Neelamjit Kaur, CCA Coordinator Madam Sukhpreet Kaur, and Sports HOD Mr. Sukhjinder Singh . The Music Department, teachers and the entire school staff worked with dedication and coordination to make the celebration a grand success.
Towards the conclusion of the programme, Principal Ma’am Mrs. Kuljeet Kaur Sandhu ji addressed the school and appreciated the enthusiastic participation of every student. She applauded the young performers for their confidence, creativity and dedication, while also acknowledging and appreciating the sincere efforts of the teachers who guided, prepared and supported the students throughout the programme. Her encouraging words motivated both the students and teachers and highlighted the importance of teamwork in making every school event meaningful and successful.
The celebration concluded on a high note, leaving everyone with a renewed sense of patriotism, gratitude, confidence and responsibility towards the nation. It was a beautiful reflection of the school's commitment to identifying, nurturing and celebrating the unique talents of every child.
The event was a reminder that true independence is not only about freedom, but also about having the courage to discover one's talent, express oneself and contribute positively to the nation.
