To my school family...

The penultimate year of my professional career, I look back and feel deeply fulfilled to have taken up teaching profession, not as an alternative, but as a neverending passion. Every year has been faced as a fresh year. The syllabus maybe same over the years, but the batch is new. New challenges, new variations in teaching-learning strategies. Year after year, changing up the classroom setup to break the monotony.

The pre-retirement years are giving me real rewards that compounded over time.
2024 : STATE TEACHER AWARD
2025 : STATE LEVEL WINNER (SAMRIDDHI)
2026 : STATE AWARD (INNOVATION)

On the occasion of Teacher's Day, Hon'ble Chief Minister, in his insightful speech, stated that every student in a classroom should be heard and involved. I feel happy to say that my innovation GROUP-ON, an effective form of groupwork for classroom management, was started years back to bring all passive students in my classes, I would say, into the mainstream. I remained motivated and consistent because of many stories of success while dealing the challenges that I faced in my classroom. I would like to say that GROUP-ON strategy is easily scalable and replicable. I thank the Education Department for this flagship initiative MERO SCHOOL MERO ABHIYAAN (MSMA) as many teachers got the unexpected and beautiful platform to apprise about their innovations.

Today, I am using this platform to express my gratitude to my school family, for this journey of recognition, is not my solo journey. I am surrounded by a family where I am getting immense support in this journey. I wouldn't have enjoyed these moments of recognition if I wouldn't have been encouraged repeatedly, year after year, by our Principal Madam DR. SAROJA PRADHAN, to register for the awards. I will remain indebted to Madam for making me take that first step, the hardest part towards this journey of recognition.

I will remain ever grateful to both teaching and non-teaching staff members for being there for me to give continuous technical assistance, for participating in Art Integrated Pedagogy. Over the years students of all streams have shown full involvement in activity based learning and I express my appreciation and gratitude. My deep felt gratitude for the library services (both Primary and Senior sections) who have helped in peer reading (Junior-Senior level). I am grateful to my retired seniors and retired friends who have been part of my journey. I feel blessed to have my supportive family.

I would like to conclude by saying that I believe in consistency and quiet concentration. I follow the saying, "I never dreamt of success, I worked for it." I am enjoying the good fortune of working in a harmonious school environment.

Thank you,
Rama Chettri
PGT
