a) Basics of Butterflies
Date and Day: 27th of July 2024, Saturday
Timing: 8:30 am to 1:30 pm
Who can attend: 15 year old and above
b) Moths Night
Date and Day: 27th of July 2024, Saturday
Timing: 6:30pm to 10:00 pm
Who can attend: 15 year old and above
c) Introduction to butterfly families, making and reporting discoveries
Date and Day: 28th of July 2024, Sunday
Timing: 8:30 am to 2:30 pm

d) Butterfly curation
Priority will be given to college students.

Glimpses of our “Summer nesting and reproductive behaviour trail @ the Serenity trust” conducted on 16/06/24 :

We tried to cover the following aspects of reproductive behaviour of birds with live examples in the field: appearance: sexual dimorphism and breeding feathers; courtship rituals including calls , dance displays, offering of gifts; nests architecture: types of nest, nest making techniques, site selection, material used; change in diet during the breeding season; parental care, including: cleaning of nest, stages of development of offsprings, begging calls, brood parasitism , strategies to avoid predation , Synurbization and more.

All protocol were followed while observing the nests so that the birds were not harassed

The Serenity Trust and Botanical Garden simultaneously hosted two different sessions on the occasion of the World Environment day. The focus of this year's event was on land restoration, combatting desertification, and drought resilience, highlighting the significance of these important issues. The celebration included a variety of engaging activities and games for people of all ages, aimed at promoting an appreciation for the invaluable gifts of nature and the importance of conservation.

The Serenity Library and Botanical Garden is glad to announce Gujarat’s second Butterfly Meet 2016. The meet aims to bring together individuals and organizations working on butterflies of Gujarat on one platform. Also individuals from other States interested in butterflies of Gujarat are welcome to attend the programme. The purpose of the meet is to generate awareness regarding documentation and conservation of butterfly and moth diversity of Gujarat. Mr. Peter Smetacek, founder of Butterfly Research Centre, Bhimtal and a leading lepidopterist of our country will be guiding us throughout the meet.

For the field trip we are going to explore Bakore (Mahisagar district) located amongst the forest of Arravalli hills.

Poster presentations are invited from the individuals doing research on butterflies and moths in different parts of the Gujarat State. Research areas may include:
1. Documentation of butterflies/moths of a particular area
