"Sir, there was no coaching in your time. So why do I need it?"

Correct. There was none. Here is the honest reason.

Everything SSB tests was being trained on us by ordinary life, without anyone calling it training. Evenings outside in mixed-age groups. Games with no referee, so we negotiated rules ourselves. Errands that made us practically intelligent by inconveniencing us. Boredom, which made us organise things.

Nobody taught us group functioning. We lived in a group.

That exposure used to arrive free. Now it has to be arranged. That is all good coaching is — replacement exposure. Not a shortcut, and no institute can promise you a recommendation. Anyone who does is not being honest with you.
