Trust at work is often built through small, everyday actions: following through on commitments, keeping people informed, acknowledging mistakes, and giving credit where it belongs.

I explored this further with practical workplace examples in my latest article, “Building trust at work: 5 everyday actions that make a difference.”

Sharing it here in case you find it useful:

What does a manuscript status really tell you?

“Submitted.” “Under Review.” “Accepted.”

Authors see these status updates, but each one represents much more than a label on a screen.

From preliminary checks and editorial assessment to peer review, revision, production, proofs, and final publication, considerable work happens as an article moves through the journal workflow.

I have explored what happens behind these stages in my latest article.

**A status tells you where your article is. Understanding the workflow tells you what is happening behind that status.**

The feedback that stayed with me

Some time ago, I came across feedback on a copyediting book. The reader appreciated its depth but felt that newcomers could benefit from something simpler and more approachable.

That thought stayed with me.

I began thinking about how the fundamentals of copyediting could be presented in a way that felt less overwhelming and easier to apply.

That thought eventually became *Building the Copy Editor's Mindset*.

And now, an experienced editor has given me another perspective: don't limit its relevance to those starting out. Some fundamentals remain valuable throughout an editorial career.

Sometimes, one piece of feedback starts a journey, and another helps you see that journey differently.

Dear Divya Jyoti Munjal - Publishing & Editorial Insights

For some time, I had not shared any updates about my new book. But behind the silence, the writing continued.

Each chapter has required careful thought, revision, and several rounds of refinement. Some ideas looked complete at first, but became much stronger when I revisited them from a reader’s perspective.

The book is progressing steadily, and I am happy to share that another chapter is now complete.

“The Professional Advantage: 12 Workplace Skills for Career Growth” is gradually taking shape, one thoughtful chapter at a time.
